summer blockbusters | pad patter 6.25.18

There's usually a bit of a lag with movies being released here after US release, and even on the cheap (read: crowded) day with only the 4 of us it's $AUD 40, before popcorn, drinks etc so we usually only see one movie per school holidays (and it's a kids/family one) and the kids have to agree, which can mean we miss a holiday block.

It looks like Incredibles 2 is out now here and Transylvania 3 is coming for July holidays - DD will boycott Incredibles based on it being Disney (because she is anti all things Disney; it is a major point of contention between us as I'm the opposite and i've said that it's worse than judging a book by it's cover, because she won't even look at the trailer if she knows it's Disney (and Pixar she tells me is the same) - it's so sad; And DH will block Transylvania because he's not a fan of Adam Sandler, so either I sit through it with the kids myself or we don't go (assuming DS wants to see it) - sounds so fun for the family when you look at it like this, hey!?. DS's school is running a movie night next week with Disney's Coco, I'm excited to see it because we haven't got to (thanks to DD) but will be helping out with concession stand etc so doubt I'll see much though.

Anyway, I'm super jealous of the deals some of your cinemas seem to do over the holidays with re-showing older kids movies for just a few dollars - i think that's half the reason netflix etc have taken off here; it costs less to subscribe for a month, than it does for 1 ticket to the cinema (as well as no late return fees - most of the physical DVD stores have closed here now too - remember those days of going to pick a 'video'?!)
