Hey to you LIly Pad peeps whom I hold near and dear in my heart!
I am exploding with happy things to share!
I have been gone traipsing around the country!
California to visit my parents and it was just fabulous...new avatar to prove I enjoyed the coast!
Then yesterday! My girls and I (my son, their real half brother didn't want to go) went on a wild goose chase(town 2 and half hours away) of the ONE address we had in their papers from adoption.
He knew of the twins, was the boyfriend of their birth mom's mom aka their grandmom. She passed last year at 56. So young, but a hard, hard life.
One thing lead to another, and we met their Aunt. Their birth momma is still not making good decisions, and is a bit lost. The family is not in contact with her due to her life.
But the Aunt. I feel like I have another daughter. She is pure wonderful
She had baby pictures and more of my girls and son. LIKE the day they were born and more. I cried and cried and she did too, and we hugged so much. The girls really have struggled not knowing what they looked like as babies.
Anyway, they have contact with two aunts (one is out of state) and they are so appreciative that they were in good homes, and are very cautious not to cause any strife with me. (I am all for the contact).
My girls are almost 17 and my son 18, and have not seen these photos. It has been 13 years since they were brought to us. this is the day they were born! I have 1st birthdays and more...pure wonderful

My girls are over the moon, my son, oh that's cool mom (which is high emotions for him) lol
I miss ya'll and have a zillion photos to scrap...so off to open Photoshop!
 
This is all so cool! It's making me cry happy tears for you and your family!
 
This is wonderful Anne. My brother's daughter also finally got to meet her birth mother. Her mother was not in such a great place in her heart, but no matter, it was so important for Eva to know her roots and heritage.
 
That is wonderful, Anne! The girls must have been so excited to see photos of themselves and hear any stories their aunt could share!
 
Such a wonderful and special story Anne! And such a treasure for the kids to see their infant pictures!
 
What a treasure to be able to find out things about their early years and to have someone willing to talk about it. I sense photo books coming. Glad you had good trips. Missed you around here.
 
It's like finding a treasure chest but so much better! So happy for you and your kids Anne!
 
That is wonderful! For sure you will have to document the stories you heard and the photos. What a treasure for them, if not now, it will be later.
 
Oh Anne, I can only image how your girls feel to see their infant photos. My daughter has almost nothing of the first three years she was in the hospital and the one photo we had of her at around two has disappeared after so many moves. Birth moms certainly provide the start of a life but life moms make that life as you've done for so many. :heartslub
 
How wonderful! That's fantastic to be connected to the family and have baby photos! I'm so glad this worked out happily!!!
 
Oh my gosh, I can't even imagine. What treasures for them and you. And so glad that the meeting with family was so positive, even if it's sad about their mom.
