We are in the midst of a summer storm cell. I love it!!! I love having the door open and listening to the rain. The smell of rain on the grass and dirt. The fact there is almost no chance of freezing. Almost - we have had hail two days in a row. The thunder.

Now, I would be disappointed to have a full summer of storms. But for now? It's been a good mix.

How about you? Do you love storms? Is your weather such that storms are super scary? Or are you a "sunshine only please" person?

I'm a storm fan too! We don't get much more than wind/thunder/lightening (thankfully!) but it is nice every now & then to have a good storm. :) I like the sound of the rain too- but after a day or so I'm ready for sunshine again! lol!

I just love water in general. I rarely bother with an umbrella or raincoat, if it's super stormy I'm not outside anyway. I love the sound of howling wind. It's ridiculous, but since we live close to the airport, we have double-paned windows. The sound of the wind crashing against them is muffled, not scary. I seriously love that sound.

i love the sound and smell of rain too. and our storms are similar to amie with wind/thunder/lightening ... it is very rare to have flooding other than minimal stream overflows, tornados are a very once in a blue warning and never really amount to anything.

i prefer sunshine but it is nice to bunker down and not feel like you have to go go go !!!

Well...considering I'm enjoying the same storm cell as you right now, I can't say I love it. Unfamiliar roads, unfamiliar car, load of kids... I'm a little nervous. I was outside about 45 minutes ago and those black clouds didn't look good. Oh never mind, it's here now too. The school just shook a little with the thunder. Yikes!! Hopefully all the speech kids are inside. They don't have rain gear with their suits.

I like them in summer and when I know it wont get to string, or flooding wont happen. In other words, if I can be relatively comfy and wont loose electricity or any necessary stuff.... then I like it.
Not too often though.
In north east Brazil, we lived in a small village sea side, well, more like up the hill from the beach, but even on top if the hill where we lived, when it rained too much? the roads were impossible to be driven.... (dirt roads)

I love storms - we don't get a lot of rain, but we're usually good for at least one or two really hard rains, and quite a few thunder and lightening storms. We like to hunker down under the covered patio and watch them!

I'm another who loves water in general, but storms are my favorite. There's only been one good one since we moved, but I have hopes for a couple good ones over the lake before summer ends.

We love storms, the louder and more intense the better!!! there is a whole lot of pressure in our little high altitude desert. It pushes for days the clouds out until the clouds march in and let loose! lightning with huge claps of thunder, hail power outages and we sit in the back covered patio and ooh and aw like it is 4th of July fireworks!

I love stormy weather. The sound of rain on the roof, claps of thunder and streaks of lightening. I love the smell of a storm and the way everything seems to stand still right before the clouds burst.

I love thunderstorms!! My husband gets so tickled at me when it starts storming because I go running around all over the house to find where I can see the lightning best. I love to open the windows and listen to it, or sit on the covered part of my porch and watch!! Not a huge fan of the wind because we've had a few incidents with trees and our house, but we had a bunch cut down back in the fall, so it's not as worrisome as it was.

LOVE storms. We get some great ones in the summer. Combo rain, lightning, thunder and wind! Not usually hail or anything hard, but a good Thunderstorm. I love watching them! The sounds, smells and everything are thrilling to me!

At work they make fun of me... I clap like little kid when we get a good storm! The dark clouds rolling in, big huge rain drops, the cracks of lightning!

(I do not like storms hearing the aftermath of storms and people getting hurt! I always feel bad that I was so excited!)

I love summer thunderstorms . . . and seriously, some summers you can set your watch by them . . . late afternoon thunderboomers. LOL

I do not care for thunderstorms with high winds. We have hurricanes here, and have had damage to our home from trees being knocked down on it from winds. So yeah, I'll take the thunder and lightning and gusty rain, but that's it.

It happened today and I was so very happy. I was actually thinking, gee, I wonder if anyone else gets as delighted as I do when it's stormy?

I also **DO NOT** like how the fluctuations in barometric pressure affect my back, but overall, I still love the shadowy, rainy day when I am safe inside. Don't like to be out in it.

I LOVE storms!! As long as we are safe. Our Arizona Monsoon Season is one of the best times of the year for me. When it truly acts like it's supposed to. I love the cloud buildups. They are so beautiful. I love the dust storms and the haboobs. And I love the lightning and thunder...although they scare me some, too...and I love the rain. If I didn't care so much about what people think I'd be a dance in the rain kind of person. And with all that said....the very best part of a storm for me is the anticipation of it coming. Watching the clouds buildup and the dust roll across the Valley. Preparing for it. And I think that is because once the storm actually hits, it will soon be over. So the exciting part is the waiting for it to hit. :) I'm a little crazy that way. :)

I'm mixed with storms. Sometimes I like them. When I don't have to go out in them... or they aren't super dangerous. But otherwise, not so much. I really dislike getting wet. Lately, we've been having rainstorms with HUGE drops of rain. I'd be interested to know why, but I hate having to go out in it. One just blew through about 20 minutes ago, but now everything is dry and fine. So weird.

The weekend Tim and I got engaged, we'd gone to the Oregon coast for a Thanksgiving alone. It was so stormy, it was unbelievable. The wind was so crazy it was blowing sand everywhere, blowing the rain sideways, and everything that wasn't nailed down was flying down the beach. The parking lots were all flooded because of the rain. We were lucky to be inside, with a beach view and fireplace, so it was nice to watch, but still kind of spooky.

I enjoy storms as long as we're safely indoors. living in northeastern Oregon, we can get some pretty good thunderstorms in the spring and summer, along with the rare tornado warning - which usually never becomes more than a warning, thankfully. in recent years, we've had storms go right over the top of us and the thunder and lightning has been incredible! I've really enjoyed those ones.

I love storms as long as I'm not in tornado prone areas or driving. If I'm at home and safe I love them. They are rare here in El Paso so we love to go outside and watch and wait. Our older daughter was fascinated by storms, even during tornado warnings, and keeping her indoors and not out tornado watching was always a trick. I've seen enough tornados and hurricanes up close and personal to last me, thank you. I've never seen a real flood and hope I never do. Living in Alabama/Tennessee for much of my life meant storms = possible tornado = hunkered down in a hallway/bathroom/closet for however long. We had some close calls and lost a truck once to a falling tree. When we lived in North Carolina it rained a whole summer and the air was hot and muggy, the yard was a soggy mess, and I got to where I dreaded rain. I guess it all depends on where I am!

I love storms too! Our family is known to jump in the car and go to the beach to watch the storms come across the Lake (we live 1 mile from Lake Michigan)
