So I haven't worked on my PL album since I went to Heather's crop back in April. I totally felt like a failure, but was still really excited about the project, and have been loving seeing everyone's finished pages. I started thinking about it and my biggest issue was that my album wasn't very accessible so last night/this morning I set about fixing this.

Here's my new PL work station (made entirely with stuff I already owned...so bonus .. no dollars spent). Sorry about the really bad photo...I took it in a hurry this morning with my phone.

The base is made up of two carts that I bought at Sam's Club last year to hold art supplies and some of my scrapbooking embellishments. The shelving unit is actually a shoe rack that I bought at Target to use as a hutch on my Vika IKEA table (I'll probably end up buying another one to use again for this purpose). The top is just about the perfect size for my album. It's a little small but I've decided that this album will be my work in progress album and at the end of the year, I'll transfer it to a new album and then start over again in this album since it's already dinged up pretty bad. All of my journaling cards, photos, photo printer and page protectors fit on these shelves. I'm so excited. I'm thinking about adding another cart for added storage (we can always use more storage), and to use for a small workspace to write out journaling cards etc. and to hold my tool bag, but for now I'll just have to walk across the room and use my IKEA table (lol I know, the hardships).

I plan on starting fresh with July but going back and filling in the beginning of the year as I'm able. I never intended it to be a week at a time book because I figured I would need that leeway and boy was I right. Anyway...I'm really really excited to get started again and wanted to share what I've been working on.

Yay! I'm happy you're getting back on the wagon! I love your setup! I find that doing PL requires a lot of desk space, the album is huge!

That's awesome!!!! And with it all organized like that, it looks like it would be easy to pack it all up and come on over for another crop night :) I'm hoping in September to have another one :)

Looks great. I have a project life book but mine is only a regular photo album that holds only 2 4 x 6 photos on each page. I am only doing 4 x 6 cards each week. Some are paper scrapped and most are just digital. I print them out and put them in my photo album. When the kids were born I gave up my paper scrapping but before then I had accumulated so much supplies that I never use. So it's forcing me to use the stuff I have accumulated rather than just card making. Good luck in getting back in the groove.

Sarah, that's a great set-up! I like that you are giving yourself flexibility to start up again now and fill in later as you are able. Great philosophy! :)

That's great, Sarah!!! I'm 8 weeks behind, but I have pictures of every week and I'm still using Oh Life! to journal about our days. I hope to be able to catch up (sigh). One of these days, right? ;)

Thanks ladies. I'm really excited to get started again!

Heather a crop in September sounds like an awesome idea. I really had fun in April + it's always nice to just get out all by myself every so often.

I also love the idea of scrapping in 2up photo albums. Definitely a lot more compact than the 12x12 ringed album I have. I love the flexibility I have with the larger size (even though that probably makes it more difficult as well).
