Am I the only one with an addiction to Starbucks?? I probably in there at least 5 times a week, and I don't even like coffee!! My drink of choice is the Chai Tea Latte which is about 220 calories, but even that adds up when you have 5 or them a week! Not to mention the cost. I keep thinking about trying some new yummy mocha concoction too, but thankfully they post the calories, so that dissuades me and I stick with my Chai.

Any tips on staying away or limiting yourself?

Sorry I cannot offer any tips to stay away as sadly I am addicted too! Actually I buy the coffee in the grocery and during the week I drink it at home. it is usually on the weekends when I go and splurge at a physical Starbucks store.. I even am addicted to their cups and mugs.. I once said when I retired I was going to get a P/T job there.. well I retired last year, but have not gone for a P/T job there. I prefer to be retired and go there to relax and savor my cup of Jo :)

I have never had a chai tea or anything from Starbucks because I don't like coffee either, but it sounds like I better not try one if they are that addictive. I have no advice on how to stay away though. My drink of choice is Diet Coke and although the calories aren't there and they aren't that expensive, it's ridiculous that I can't go without one every morning. They aren't good for me, but that doesn't seem to matter either. Add me to the beverage addicted list.

I am a Starbucks (and coffee) addict. We have one in our Target, which is my downfall. I've had a Starbucks gold card for a while now (every 13th drink is free) and at first, I'd get at least one free coffee a month. I don't go quite as often anymore, but I certainly would if I lived closer to one!

Their Chai IS pretty good, but no, I barely go there. I've never liked their coffee, and I wouldn't go out of my way for tea.

The Tazo chai latte mix is good. Comes in a carton. Try it. Much cheaper. :)

We are the last town I believe in America without a Starbucks, but I am still an addict. I buy the beans and grind and then snort them...no, I don't snort them, but I should!
We have a store that sells out of date foods...and I scored on 15 pound blocks of espresso roast beans. for 1/2 price! YEAH
I like theOregon Chai? can't remember the brand, but it is a concentrate liquid, and you can add your choice of liquid, milk, water...to it. They have a sugar free that I love.
oh I found it! here it is:

Tori- I am a gold member now too, and now you can get reward points from bags you buy in the grocery... then of course with the bag, besides the star, you also get a free tall.. I am backed up on the coffee bags.. tons of emptys in a bag in the pantry... I usually will turn in 2 and they will give me a Venti... I am going Saturday to meet my friend for Coffee at Starbucks and bringing her some bags so that she can get freebies... I only wish they would let me bring in my emptys and just credit my account for all the freebies so I didn't have a stock pile of bags!!! - BTW when I would go & visit my Dad before he passed last year, he too only had a Starbucks in Target, so I would have him stop there for me continuously!! :)

I usually hit SB a few times a week. I love pumpkin or cinnamon dolce lattes. I collect their mugs too, like Christa. I have a shelf of coffee mugs/glasses and another shelf for my SB mugs. I can only buy 2-3 more this yr and the shelf will be full, meaning I can't buy anymore b/c I won't have room for them.

Rae, I got in trouble last week.. I bought 2 more.. the stackable moss green gray new fall mugs. When I brought them home DH said nothing.. then about 4 hrs later he says NO MORE MUGS! LOL... we are running out of room and I would need to get rid of the regular ones I love. He told me we both could go for a month with anew mug a day without washing them and not run out of clean ones in the cabinet! I guess I will have to take a photo of the mug cabinet and do a page on that one of these days!!

Oh I love Starbucks, but I can't afford an addiction! I have to make my coffee at home somedays. But right now I love their pumpkin lattes and chai so much! One of the Targets near me just added a Starbucks so we have one on each side of the shopping center and that just makes me so happy. LOL!

I have only been to starbucks 1 time, and even then my sis and daughter ordered my drink. I don't remember what it was or what it taste like. I really want to try to go again and try something, but I wouldn't know what to order. I don't like coffee but I do like a cappo. My hubby just says it would be easier if I just get a hot chocolate..lol.

I tried one of these a few years ago, the Tao brand I think and just didn't like it. I should try it again though, or try this brand. I even managed to get hooked this summer on Iced Chai's, and found a concentrate from Wegman's that I really liked. Haven't tried it hot though. It's awesome iced...

I was addicted to diet coke for years, and like you it was my morning coffee. Finally gave it up in Jan 2010. Took a couple years to get completely over it, but now I have zero desire to drink one, and even if I did, the taste is ruined for me.

Ok. This thread is making me c-r-y. I think I'm in the only Country in the Galaxy without starbucks. And I love Starbucks. Every time that I'm not-in-Italy I ALWAYS first check the nearest starbuck! Rumors say that we don't have starbucks because we're *too much* lovers of our coffee and our coffee shops (bar) and that no-one would prefer a starbucks-coffee to a "real italian" espresso or cappuccino. They lie! I simply will have BOTH ^___^

I am too lazy to drive to Starbucks, lol. I love their chai tea though and I realized you can just make it at home, with a chai tea bag, milk, and way more sugar than you think is necessary! We got a Keurig for Mother's Day this year, so I can't make myself drive all the way there when yummy coffee is sitting on my counter!

Starbucks all but went broke in Australia so none here - I think there may be a couple left but only in big cities.

I don't mind as, like Karen, my beverage of choice is diet cola (usually pepsi max), not great I know but I figure there are worse things to be addicted to (buying scrapping supplies - oh wait - damn...)

No way!!! How do you get rewards for the bags you buy in the grocery? I only buy their Blonde Willow blend coffee, so I could totally rack up some rewards right there.
