Do have them? If so do you have a trick for keeping them clean, specifically fingerprint free? I've tried a few products made especially for this and haven't had much luck. We don't have little ones and still as often as I clean them there always seems to be smudges or fingerprints of some kind.

Not much help here, but my SIL used to be a part time cleaning lady, and when we were looking for a new fridge, she talked us out of getting stainless steel, but if we were really set on it, get brushed steel. Same for other appliances (big and small). We went with white, which surprisingly is the one that shows the least dirt/smudges/fingerprints.

This actually is brushed steel which we were assured would be easy to keep clean :p Maybe white would have been a more sensible choice.

Oh no! I'm glad we didn't get the brushed steel then. :)

My SIL usually cleaned with a cloth (not a paper towel), and used ordinary dish soap and water on everything. It's funny when she comes over, the first thing she does is start washing down my cupboard doors. I don't even notice what's there, but she does!

I just got new stainless steel appliances last week and the fingerprints, watermarks are killing me! I hope someone has a trick they can share....

This is the price of "stainless" steel, sorry ladies! Please do note not much for fridges but for stoves, if you are scrubbing always scrub on the same direction as your "brushed" steel.

We had stainless steel and we did have some spots that would not clean no matter what. Our was not as shiny though, I thought we had brushed steel, but now I'm not sure.

I'll be following this one since we'll have stainless steel/brushed steel at the new house! Not really my first choice, but it kind of happened that way by default. LOL

see, we have brushed steel, and it's a breeze to keep clean! even if the prints and smudges have been on there for a bit. i use Weiman stainless steel polish and a dry cloth to wipe them down.
bummer that you're not having luck with yours! that's frustrating when you put that kind of investment into something only to have it not be what you were expecting.

ya love micro clothes and vinegar is awesome- gets the water deposit drippage from ice-maker off too

I use the Method stainless steel wipes for quick clean up and the Weiman spray for cleaning day.

I sometimes use this...

hehe, yes this photo was taken in my kitchen tonight :)

This thread makes me nervous!!! We had stainless steel appliances 2 houses ago and last house I went with black because of the pain in the butt to clean SS. Wouldn't you know - we chose SS again for this kitchen - love the look of it, but hate how they look so dirty/fingerprinty. I thought they made them better now days, but they probably just tell you that to get you to buy them.

My sister rubs a teeny amount of olive oil on her stainless steel appliances every couple of weeks and that seems to help a lot.
