Are you wearing your green today? Any special St. Patrick's Day things planned?

I joke that 2 of the most annoying days to work in a school are St. Patrick's Day and April Fool's Day :giggle I don't own anything green and usually have to find a piece of ribbon to pin to myself for the day, so I'm always glad when those holidays fall on the weekend :giggle I am planning to make corned beef and cabbage for dinner (one of my favs), but that's about the extent of our celebration.

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone!
I live with two non meat eaters so no corn beef and cabbage here - it was never a fave for me so I don't feel like I'm missing out. I'm planning on going NO WHERE today - I need a down day at home. I already got so much done this AM - my DD and DH are still sleeping. Trying to get ahead of my day and get some house keeping done. Then some creative time and finally - maybe a movie or two with the fam. :)

I’m barely aware it’s St Pat’s Day. I have a shift at the box office and after that I am meeting a friend to see the Marvel movie. It’s actually a fundraiser for a local representative, which I think is a cool idea!

It’s also my daughter’s girlfriend’s birthday today, and they’re spending the day together here.

we don't celebrate here , only the drinking and party on pubs....it began yesterday, and today we are going to another new place in town!

The Irish stew and banoffee pie are made and I will make corned beef, cabbage, boiled new potatoes, and Irish soda bread later. We have glittery green hats and shamrock glasses too. We have been having a St Patrick’sDat party for several years ..always fun.

Yes, we will be wearin’ the green and drinking the Guinness and Bailey”s Irish cream. :happy:happyclap:happy

No Irish roots here, so we don’t celebrate. My mum makes Welsh cakes on St. David’s Day - (Wales-March 1st. My dad’s birthday was on St George’s Day (England-April 23) so he used to get a red and white birthday cake sometimes.

We don't really celebrate, but the children do little things at school/preschool. Lots of green and rainbows.
Coincidentally though, last night (St Patrick's Day our time) we put on the next episode of How I Met Your Mother, and it was the St Patrick's Day episode!!! What?! Weird!

My very Irish named son played in the 8u Mites Shamrock Showdown hockey tourney all weekend & this afternoon took home 2nd place medals! We were all in our team blue/yellows- so one of the players gave everyone shamrock stickers so we wouldn't get pinched! ;)

I totally wore a green shirt yesterday. I used to own very little green, but it's a team color for my middle son and the school color for oldest son/hubby.

I was so looking forward to corned beef and cabbage, but the store was completely cleaned out and I didn't have the energy to call around or go store hopping to find it. I ended up making a shepard's pie with was a big hit with everyone.

I had plans for us to go to St. Paddy's Day-themed make & take at a local art gallery but time got away from us & we didn't end up going. I even forgot to dress my kids in green for church!

We did change once we got home & took some pics together. The little talked me into St. Paddy's Day sugar cookies from Walmart while we were at the store so we had those for a treat after dinner.

I'm generally not low-key holiday but we were this year. At least I have a handful of pics for the SPD kits that will come out next year, right?! Although since they're mostly rainbows (my fave!) & green, I can use those throughout the year.

I made the little's day by buying him a half-price plastic light-up four leaf clover necklace yesterday morning when we ran to the store for Diet Coke. I will have to take a picture of him in that, too.

I wore green and made a little treat for DD and my brekkie.
Downscaled this year, was more fun when the children were younger.
And when I was eating carbs, I suppose.
