Spring Break Nonsense | Pad Patter 3.29.17

Is it wrong I secretly hope they forget Easter is that Sunday?

Buy the chocolate now...and eat it all week while unpacking! and take a break for church if you're church goers. You'll need a bit of peace! says she who has moved a zillion times. :circles

We do school! bhahahh...mean mom that I am. We are having a sleep over on Thursday with 3 additional boys. I have one son who is battling me in doing school. If he doesn't do his school. He sleeps in his room, and friends in back patio.
I may get award for meanest mom and worst spring break all rolled up in one!
Maybe I may dust the mantle for the award.

I don't have a defined spring break at my house (homeschooling). We did just go to Legoland, but that was for birthday. And no, there's not a trip every birthday! And I didn't instagram/Facebook/whatever it.
My nephew is on break next week, and is coming for a long weekend (Thurs - Mon) to spend time here. We won't do much, probably a park or two. Then I'm sending my munchkin to the grandparents for the rest of the week, and relaxing and doing nothing for about 2 days (trying for 3!) before we go up for Easter.

Me too! We haven't really taken a "spring break" in several years. We take of a day here or there as needed. When my kids whine to me about taking a whole week off I remind them of all the other days we get off. PLUS if they had a whole week of doing no school work I think I would go crazy. They need structure....I need structure.

We did take 3 days off this week since my son had surgery (actually my kids did do their seatwork - the work they can do on their own without my help). The hospital where he had the surgery is 5 hours away so we stayed the night before & the night after. That was pretty much our break. LOL! We are doing art, memory work & seatwork today and that's it.

No awesome vacations for us this year. Too many medical bills and adoption bills coming in. What I really long for is a night or two away with my hubby...but with 2 new adopted kiddos we don't see leaving them over night for a while.
It can be tough with all the awesomeness you see on social media...but we are all in different phases of our lives. I have to remember that when I see my SIL & brother go on an awesome 5 day cruise all by themselves! One day...one day...but I must enjoy the present!

I was able to get most of my scrappy stuff over to the new house today!! I have it all on the shelves in the master closet for now until I can get the furniture I was using over and situated. I have some of those plastic bin things (the kind from the home sections at Target/WalMart) that are full of things that I REALLY should go through before lugging everything over...I know there are things in them I will NEVER use.

Well, my daughter had her college spring break last week, which really didn't affect me too much except that I got a day or 2 off of my regular grandbaby watching schedule... BUT, starting on Good Friday, Squirt and Curtis will both be off for spring break... I don't have a lot of huge plans. We still have to go to Tae Kwon Do (which Squirt just started), and speech/occupational therapy for Curtis, and we'll still have grandbaby over almost every day. Big difference will be that I'll have to make lunch and won't get to have my relaxing 3 hours while every one is at school. Excuse me while I go cry in my room...

But, I will take them to Knotts probably at least once, because it's the boysenberry festival and we have season passes, since it's literally like 6 miles down the road. That's not huge for us, it's just life. I get the passes every year, because the water park is the place to be in the summer! We head out for a couple hours in the afternoon 2-3 days a week in the summer. Technically, this year, we are going to be that big summer vacation family, though, as my in laws are treating us all to a trip to Hawaii in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. I have high hopes for that trip to be more fun than I think it will!!

Huggles!!
~Sarah~
