Do you love them or hate them?
Is it different with movies or books?

My husband loves game of thrones, and since he's been working Sun, Mon, Tues nights he's had to avoid Facebook and other sites until after he can watch it Wed!

We are watching orange is the new black together, and as hard as I've tried to avoid spoilers, I inadvertently read one! Argh.

Now, when it comes to books I quit? I look for the spoilers so I know how it ends. :giggle

How about you?
 
I'm not a huge TV watcher but I don't like them for books or tv shows. And if it's a book I care about, I have to read before watching the movie. If it's just a movie and no lans to ever read the book obviously I don't care in that case.

I haven't quit too many books but not sure I ever even thought to look for spoilers as to how it ended. That's a good idea.
 
I don't like them. I'd rather have the surprise. With Game of Thrones, all the fan theories have had time to accumulate over the years and if/when they are proven right/wrong it's actually underwhelming for me. My hubby loves reading theories but I'd rather come up with my own ideas. Even being warned that something HUGE happens in a movie annoys me because then I'm anticipating something the entire time.

With books I don't mind as much. Sometimes if I'm not sure that I like where the story is going I'll skim ahead for hints to see if it's worth my time.
 
I don't like them. I live on the Pacific Coast and have friends in all U.S. time zones so it seems someone has to post what happened. Same with movies I heard one for Star Wars and kept thinking when is it going to happen.
 
I don't really mind ... I'm so behind the times on things like movies/TV that I figure by the time I get around to watching them I'll have forgotten the spoilers anyway. My husband has been watching Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, a few others on Netflix. I find them so repellent, I generally find something else to do while he is watching them.

I read a lot of supernatural books ... I do have a habit of peeking ahead. Usually when I get about half way through, I'll start peeking at the last page, see which characters have made it through to the end. I usually regret it a little bit, but I just can't help myself, LOL.
 
I don't really watch anything on tv, but I don't really like them with movies. I like to try to figure things out and be surprised at the end. I used to be really bad about skipping ahead in books and reading the end before I even started the book, but I've quit doing that.
 
I avoid all social media until I am up to date with Game of Thrones. i also managed to somehow avoid the biggest shock in the latest Star Wars movie - my daughter didn't and she was furious.

Books are different, if I don't like a book, I will happily skip through and read the last chapters.
 
Nope. Don't like them. Eep if it's a series I'm watching on demand or Netflix and I'm two years behind or so. I started watching tv before knee surgery when the only real pain free time was having my leg up. Post surgery, I found way to many series I liked! @Tiff I adored House of Cards but then I'm a child of DC. :backing
 
ITA with @Tiff !! I will probably forget by the time I see it. But I do try not to share if by chance I saw something first. I rarely look for them... except again, exactly as Tiff said, into a book, I can't help myself sometimes!

I rarely avoid looking out for them, either, unless I know I'm going to see it soon, and rarely see any online for books. For example, I am taking my daughter to see Finding Dory next weekend, so if I didn't have that plan, I'd probably be reading up about it... reviews, story, etc. But because I know I'm seeing it so soon, I'm really trying to avoid looking into it at all.

TV shows are different. A few episodes in to something I'm watching on Netflix, and I'm reading ahead through the rest of the season, and sometimes on to the whole series. Haha
 
I don't like spoilers. For anything. Funny enough, don't like surprises in my own life (like surprise parties or surprise visits from my MIL, etc). You would think I would love spoilers cuz then I'd know exactly what happened in the book/movie/show rotfl.

Me too! I read "Spoilers" and though OMG there's a Doctor Who post! :)
 
I don't like spoilers...but I'm also not really into TV shows or movies. I sort of watch things while I'm working, but I often have to ask my hubby how a show ends because I either miss it or I forget it!

Books...I don't look ahead either, but I don't read a lot of fiction. I usually read self-help or biographies. I know, boring.

In all honestly, I have a love/hate relationship with House of Cards ... the story will pull me in for a while, and then after a while I just get sick of seeing people be murderers and liars and connivers and STILL getting away with it. It makes me so angry. I'm also very empathetic, so movies and TV with good writing can evoke very strong feelings in me, to the point that it just gets to be too much.

You know it wasn't til I read Christina's post that it dawned on me that when I read "spoilers" in my head (pls say you know what I mean...) it was in River Song's voice! David Tennant is MY Dr. Who even though I first started watching the series back in 1968. My 3 yo son adored the show but the music made him hide his head on my lap. "you will be exterminated!"
