Splints Removed - yee haw!!!!

I had nose surgery to repair a deviated septum last Tuesday and today I get these darn splints removed from my nose so in about 2 hours I will be able to BREATHE again and can take off this darn bib. ;) I am over the moon excited about this. I'll come back later and tell you about my two new wind tunnels on my face. LOL
 
wahoooo!!!!!! i'm sure it will be great to have the tunnel flow returned.
 
YAY!!! I know how much you were dreading those splints. So happy that you're finally able to get them off!
 
Yay!!! I'm hoping the improvement in your breathing is everything you hoped for! And yahooooo for no more splints!!!

They are out and I feel GREAT! I seem to have lost my sense of smell in this journey somehow (hopefully it will come back) but my nose is amazing! I'm so glad to be able to finally rest my jaw and close my mouth. :happydance2
 
Tiki, glad you are feeling better already. DH had a similar procedure some years ago and his sense of smell came back after the swelling was totally gone.

Yay! Hope your sense of smell returns quickly! So has it changed the look of your face at all? You say you can close your mouth properly now (I know all about that one) so it makes me wonder what's changed to look at?
 
No - it hasn't changed the outside of my nose or anything else appearance wise. All the repairs were done to the inside cartilage. I only had a septoplasty (repair a deviated septum so I can breathe better) whereas a rhinoplasty changes the whole structure and shape of your nose. The only reason I can now close my mouth is that I don't have to hold it open in order to breathe. :lol The whole time the splints were in, I could not breathe from my nose at all. So disappointingly, I don't look any better than I did before. ;)

lol! Duh me ...of course it was just the breathing thing! Mine was a lot more complicated!
