Hugs to you. I hope you can find the magic of Christmas again.
I have had a couple of things get me down, but stomped all over them with Christmas spirit, sugar cookies and literally choosing to be happy...
1. My graduation. Everyone was in a bad mood, I nearly called it quits and didn't go, but I just decided, stuff them I am going to be happy and proud of myself!! So I did. It was really weird, but choosing to be happy has been a big 'theme' in a health and wellbeing group I am part of.
2. I promised Melody that I would make her an Apple Pie Pavlova for Christmas (not even sure if it will be good, but it was her idea). Then I find out that my father in law didn't listen and is making 4 different desserts, including pavlova and apple crumble, as well as the HUGE Christmas lunch he always does. We will be totally full and there is no point making another dessert for after dinner. I felt really disappointed, but talked to Melody and we decided together that it will be her birthday cake instead!
3. Despite not a lot of candy/sugar, the children have been really acting out this year, more than ever before and it is draining. I am waking up exhausted and feeling down a lot during the day having to deal with them. This has been the hardest to deal with, and a work in progress.
Things that have made me happy... two things REALLY stand out:
Ronan Keating singing a Christmas song for New Zealand and Australian, and anyone else in a Summer Christmas. It is perfect!
This is the karaoke/filmclip version
This is the version with Ronan Keating getting all the changes put in place, it is quite cute and funny
LadBaby getting NUMBER 1 on the UK charts for Christmas with a song about sausage rolls, to the tune of We Built This City.
Bit of background, LadBaby is a YouTube/Facebook sensation who does funny pranks and videos with his wife and kids. He is absolutely hilarious, and she is a very good sport. For Father's day he won Celebrity Dad of the Year (UK) beating Prince William, lol, and now he wrote a parody song to raise money for charity. It was just as a joke, but it was up there with Ariana Grande and actually TOPPED the UK Charts. Made my day!!
WARNING: Do NOT watch if you love this song, it may be ruined forever!
Hugs again for those who are having a tough Christmas. I hope things turn around for you and you can find Christmas magic again.
