I didn't want to hijack the geocaching with the iphone thread, so I thought I would start a new thread.

can someone explain the general process to me? What ages are your kids? My boys are 6, and I think that it seems like something that they might enjoy, but am curious to hear a little more about it!

There's a ton of info there and lots of FAQ's. My kids are 12, 10, 8 and 7 and I just think they'll love it - we shall see! We haven't tried yet. I'm hoping to do our first one this week!

Becky, my almost 6 year old LOVES it. In her mind, it's basically a treasure hunt...and what could be more exciting than that?! LOL I would suggest that you start with some easier caches to get them hooked.

We've been geocaching since my kids were babies. I think my oldest was 4 when we started. I just carried the younger kids in a bjorn or backpack while hiking around! Perfect for ALL ages!!

Yep, all my kids love it...ages 7, 5 and almost 3. They love looking for "treasure"!

sounds like fun... but i suppose i would have to have some form of gps first. i think i am the last person on earth without one.
