What have I gotten myself into? :rofl

My oldest went off to college last year, and despite being extremely gifted (34 on the ACT, without having taken any math classes beyond Algebra and Geometry), things didn't go well for him. He failed several classes and ultimately dropped out.

He was pretty adamant that he didn't want to go back, and would just get a job (which he has), but I've still been trying to persuade him to at least take some classes locally, to no avail.

Finally, today, I convinced him to take a class at the local community college WITH ME. So, guess who's going back to school? :dizzy

It'll be fun.

Maybe I can take classes with each kid. By the time my last one is done I'll have a PhD. LOL

Ohhhh... well there you go, that's one way to get him there... Best of luck to both of you! :-)

How very cool, Angie! So many factors go into success in college. I hope you both enjoy it this time around! :)

No idea what we are taking. I told him he could pick, just not math, which he hates as much as I do, so I think we're safe there. LOL

That's definitely cool! Are you guys going to take the SAME class or just each of you take a class. I want to go back to school but I think I might wait until my kids are in at least Elementary School - but I'm pretty antsy. I wanna get back VERY soon so I probably won't wait another 2 years! lol. This could totally be the best thing for you guys! Never to late I say! I'm sure by the time my oldest is going into college I'll barey be finishing up my bach degree in whatever - because I doubt that I will have a lot more time to devote to more than one class.

I'm going to be going back, and will probably take Photographic Technology and get an associates. Lets see... I would think an easy start might be english or a history class... something gen ed.

that is an awesome idea, Angie! I want to be able to do that :) (will be waiting at least a couple of years though, lol!) But I just want to take extra classes just for the heck of it :D

That is such a great idea! I always loved being in college... math and all! :) I think it's pretty darn cool that he's willing to do that with you. What a fabulous bonding experience!

We are going to take the same class. I think it will be great. Except for my husband, paying for both of us. :rofl

Thats cool and you totally inspired me to look into school myself AGAIN. When are you guys starting?

Like the 27th or something if we get all his paperwork in order.

I'm proud of you Angie! I can't even imagine trying to take a class with tests now. One of my very best friends went back to nursing school at 46 and she is doing phenomenal. I think we all learn better ways/habits of studying with age. My problem is my memory... can't imagine trying to remember theorums or rules for a test situation.

It's a good thing all my continuing education is open book testing...
