Oh my gosh. I haven't been hit by the actual flu in years! Turned into a wicked ear infection and.chest infection Spent a night in the hospital getting rehydrate and IV antibiotics. Finally feeling slightly better today.

Any tips on speeding this up? Drinking too of orange juice and eating fruit and veggies but Holy wow I feel I've been hit by a bus. Also why I've been a bit mia.

Whiny vent over!

Oh no! Sounds yucky. Must have been bad to get the night in hospital. You forget how bad the real, actual flu can be! Hope you shake it off soon. It can take a long time so be forgiving to yourself ;-)

Ugh! No tips here, but I hope you get well soon! Being sick is rotten!

Hope you feel better soon. There is a nasty flu running around here and no matter what you do, it takes about 2 weeks to run its course. My hubbie was hit with this and so far the rest of us have stayed healthy (the funny part is that my hubbie was the only one to get the flu shot this year!).

Same here!!! Everyone else, 2 kids and DH are fine. The kids had the flu shot this year but DH didn't. I'm the only one who got hit. Well I'm on week 2 now so hopefully I get better soon. It's been busy too what with my boys hockey and other stuff so I bet thats why it's hanging on. Not much rest for moms!

I don't have any magic cures, but I hope you feel better soon! I know when I'm sick I can never get warm enough- hot water bottles and a heated blanket are my best friends!

Sounds awful! Hope you feel better soon! No tips here, just resting and rehydrating, maybe some binge watching tv for a day.

Oh no, feel better!

Honey! That will coat your throat and make it feel better. Straight or with tea. You can get some Ricola honey cherry drops too, they are yummy, and help! They also make Vitamin C drops (halls) that are yummy! The citrus from pineapple and oranges bothers me usually, so these were my workarounds. Oh... Sipping chicken soup/broth. Warm, flavored, and keeps me hydrated. Warm compress, lots of blankets, and tissues with lotion!

Become a couch potato!

Elderberry syrup. Not sure what it does for cough but helps boost the immunity. I didn't believe until DH tried it last year. Also garlic tablets. Elderberry syrup costs more but the real stuff works.

Hope you are feeling better soon! I also was sick a few weeks back for a whole week. No Fun!

Green Tea! Lots and Lots of Green Tea!

Bless you and hopes it improves rapidly. My only "cure" is to go to bed and stay there for days if you can.

Oh no! That is no fun ...I sure hope you are feeling yourself soon!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Hopefully you'll be back to normal soon.

I've had the flu too this year and it has taken me about 2 weeks to get over it. I still have the cough, but am so glad the worst is over. It has gone through our whole family. DS 18 is the last one to get it and was down flat yesterday. I'll have to try some of these tips and see if he can get over it quicker than the rest of us did. We've had this stuff going through our family for over a month now and I'm sick of it! ;)

Anna said it best----SLEEP!!! And plenty of fluids! My last flu was 12 years ago so I am counting my blessings. But I remember how horrible it was. I refuse to get the shot. I just try to keep my immune system in top shape and stay home a lot during the winter. My Physician isn't of this world!! :yup
