Soooo - have you seen it yet???

i'm going tomorrow night w/ DH :) i cannot wait! i'll probably see it again by myself one day too :)

ACK! You girls are making me want to see it even more! I'm on evenings (2-10) from Friday to Monday so I won't be seeing it this weekend. Hopefully I'll get to see it during the week and if not I'm going on Saturday with the hubs for our date night. I can't wait to see it!

Tana - yes - definitely. Their relationship is much more deep and complex in the book than it seems on film!

DD and I loved the books and I'm a big "you have to read it before you see the movie" person. DD and I are going to go next weekend (I hope). DH has to work all weekend so there's no way we could swing it. It's killing us that we have to wait LOL

We went right after work and school yesterday. I took Kenzie and her friend. We all loved it and the 2.5 hrs. went fast. Even with it being that long, they still had to leave out alot about some of the other characters in the book. Gale barely had a role in the movie. lol. But I think they did a great job. We all loved it! It was kind of weird at first with the camera shaking and and how fast it moves, but my eyes finally got adjusted. The little girl I took leaned over and said "My mom would not have liked this because she hates when the camera jerks and moves too fast". lol. My friend hates 3D movies too for that reason.

I am sure it will make tons of money and they will do the next one...

and Breaking Dawn 2 trailer was nice too!

I saw it with my DD and her BFF. I liked it but didn't love it. The book(s) are much better IMO. The girls really liked it and cried a lot..I fell asleep at one point and snored.

I just got home from seeing it! I thought they did a pretty good job with it. There's some stuff I missed from the books - but they can't fit it all in. And I like how they were able to show some of the behind the scenes stuff that wasn't in the books.

My sister hadn't read the books and didn't know much about the story and she was totally Team Gale. She was so mad about Katniss and Peeta. It thought that was hilarious - being a Peeta fan.

Yeah I agree with everyone's comments that it was good, but so much was left out. I would have preferred if they cut the first part shorter in order to make the games longer because they went by so fast you didn't even feel half the desperation or suspense you do in the book.

I really liked Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. I wasn't sure at first but she won me over very quickly. The casting was really fantastic all around!

I thought that it was neat how they interwove the behind the scenes stuff too!

My friend that went with me hadn't read the book yet either and she was completely Team Gale too.

Which brings me to my biggest complaint with the movie....I didn't really love the actor that played Peeta and thought that they kind of made him look weak and not much character development. I really liked Peeta in the book and I didn't necessarily think that he came across as strongly in the movie as in the book.

Overall, I thought it was a decent adaptation though. I thought Jennifer Lawrence did great as Katniss too. And I thought they did a pretty good job capturing the garishness of the Capitol.

We saw it today. I think they did an excellent job on the movie and the girl they cast as Katniss was perfect in her role. Really, I liked all the casting (and Lenny Kravitz, wowie, swoon...). I did like seeing the gamemaker point of view more in the movie (all that was left out the book, of course) and how they really (sadly) look at it all as if it really were a game and not real lives when they were changing the weather, adding evil beasts, setting fires, etc.

I loved how Effie was totally clueless. I think they did lack character development on Peeta as well, although, I did like the guy who played him in the role.

I think there needed to be more Gale character development as well and show more of his relationship with Katniss. I thought they kissed in the first book, and this movie made it look like they were mostly, just hunting buddies, not more.
(I've always been Team Gale...)

Overall, I think the movie was pretty true to the book and pretty darn awesome!

I haven't yet, and its killing me!! LOL. It doesn't help that DH doesn't want to read the book, so he is not very interested. He did say he'd go with me, but I'd rather for him to want to go! I may end up going alone or taking my daughter. I keep going back and forth on that - she hasn't read the book yet, but is planning on it. I'd rather she read it first.

Todd read all the books before I did. I finished all three books last month. We went to see the movie today.

I was never Team Gale or Team Peeta. I didn't really care who she ended up with. I would have been ok if she ended up alone at the end of the 3rd book. I just wanted good characters and good story.

I thought the movie was pretty good. I was warned by some people about the shaky hand-held camera effects, so I sat in the back of the theater and it didn't bother me. I usually hate this kind of camera work because it makes me dizzy and want to throw up.

I'm not sure how I would have liked the movie if I hadn't read the book first. To me, having read the book made me have a deeper emotional connection to the characters. If I hadn't read the book already, I'm not sure that they had enough character development in the movie to make me care very much about any of them. But I am glad I went and I thought the movie was well-made.
