So, as I am trying to jump back into Digiscrap after a 5+ year hiatus, I am finding it hard to navigate around. Many of the open "hangout" sites have shut down or are very inactive. So, aside from TLP (of course!), where else is everyone hanging out to discuss digiscrap-related stuff? I don't mean other stores, I mean, are there any active digiscrap facebook groups, or open forums, or is everyone on Instagram? Twitter?

Also, what "social media" sites do CT calls refer to, when they say you need to post layouts there? Same as the above?

I feel old and out of touch, please help!!
 
There are Facebook groups for digiscrap that I post layouts in, but there's not really conversation in those. I'm in a couple of paper scrapping Facebook groups and there's more chatter there, but it's not really about digi scrapping.

I really end up hanging out here quite a bit because there are non-scrapping conversations, about life and trivia and such, and then there's the learning part because everyone shares bits and pieces of things, and then the sharing of layouts and the love of digi scrap. It's just all here in one spot now.

I can honestly say you're in the best place to discuss digi-related stuff!
 
Thanks Cheryl! I guess I will just have to hang out here then! Not that I'm complaining! My favorite designers are already here so it makes sense! :)

Also here's another question, are there any digiscrapping related podcasts?
 
I'm devoted to TLP and do 90% of my digiscrap socializing here. :love

There is another digiscrap store called Digital Scrapper that I sometimes visit because I have been with them, inconsistently, since around 2009 when I joined their monthly club that included tutorial videos and stuff. That club only lasted until around 2014 or so, but I continue to like their emphasis on learning. Recently they closed their forums, which were never very active, and opened a Facebook group community, which I think is a great idea but I haven't found it to work as well for socializing as a forum like we have here at TLP, and mostly it looks like people are just sharing layouts, not chatting.

There are a lot of designers I follow on FB but most don't have much socializing happening on their pages. One great exception is Kate Hadfield. She (or maybe a CT member?) posts questions and interesting things every day, so I participate there a lot whenever I check in on FB!

Designers like Pinterest, Instagram and FB ... I believe, as the main social media sites for their CT to post. If you are applying to a CT you can ask them when you apply which they prefer/require.

If you are just getting back into digi scrapping - check out this thread. I has the Designers' blogs/social media/newsletters so you can follow them! Some have learning channels/videos too!

If it's more interaction you want, you'll want to come to the Watch Cheryl Scrap chats each month. There's always fun conversations, silly songs, talk of food and lots of digi learning. I know some of the designers here in TLP have their own little customer private areas, which I love!!!!!! You get to know the designers a bit better and talk about scrapbooking.

I understand this feeling so well. I joined a new team and they wanted a gallery I'd never heard of. It took me a month to qualify to post in their gallery. I've been looking for other places but honestly I've kept it simple. I post here mostly and would ONLY ever post here if I could. It's the best/most active. I post on instagram as my social media option and save to pinterest as well but that's about it these days.

There used to be some really good open hangout style forums/galleries but they've mostly all shut down. 98% of the designers I like and use are here so I just try to go with the flow.
 
For digi interaction I mostly post here and at the new Scrapaneers Society.
