So...what's everyone doing this long weekend?

It's a holiday weekend for us here in the US :) What's everyone doing?

DH and I have a date night on Saturday, dinner downtown and then we are going to see the Hangover 2 and Sunday is Colin's 9th birthday so we are going to surprise him with an overnight trip to Disney (if I can get a room somewhere there this late..have to work on that today otherwise it's going to be a daytrip).

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!!

No real plans here..probably just hang out at home. Maybe try to go on a picnic if it's nice. Our landlady is supposed to come by at some point to see if the cabinets in the kitchen need replacing (crossing fingers). We have one hanging a little bit off the wall and her handyman came by and looked at it and suggested replacement and she's decided if she needs to replace the one cabinet she's going to replace them all, plus the counter top and sink but she wants to see it for herself first. They are all in really in need of replacement, doors don't close right, counter is chipped in many places and our faucet leaks a bit when you turn it on but leaks into the sink so no damage is being caused. Still would love to have a bright shiny new kitchen!

well we will probally go see my grandfather who we just found out he has cancer in both kidneys and its spread beyond help! happy times !
might even use his pool LOL!
since my family is picture perfect and normal, i will proablly end up yelling all weekend at the kids to stop fighting LOL! its supposed to be hot so well probally also cook out and go swimming at some disgusting pond near the waterfall!`
im also due for some naughty dreams about Jack Sparrow so i think we will go see the New Pirates of the Caribean movie!

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday :beat so we're having a nice celebration dinner tomorrow night. Other than that, I guess we'll mainly chill out because the weather doesn't seem great (I need some scrapping time too!). DH will be out of town next week so it's good to just be home (not that we usually do anything different anyway.. :giggle).

Carly, I'm so sorry for your grandpa. :hug

Kelly, good luck for the Disney trip! That's an awesome idea! :happydance

Well our long weekend was last weekend (Canada), but our school basically just deemed this weekend as a long one and the kids get Monday/Tuesday off. Background: Our city has been under a state of emergency for a couple of weeks now, due to the flooding. We live right across the road from the river and the school is on the same street as us and had to close. We've all been under evacuation stand-by for a few weeks now. The kids have been bused over to the university for classes. The state of emergency and evac. has been lifted this week, as the water levels are finally starting to go down. So the teachers have to move everything back to the school.

Anyway...lol it's raining here, so not a lot planned for the weekend. I'm hoping to get some scrapping in - my favorite thing to do when it's yucky outside! :)

I will spend tomorrow getting things ready and then we are leaving super early sunday to my inlaws for the week. Then as soon as we get home my hubby has to catch a plane to the states (lucky) for three weeks so I get to play single mom for a while. Hopefully i will have some extra scrappy time with him gone.

Carly I am really sorry to hear about your grandpa :(

Kelly, have a great day at Disney!!

This weekend we were planning on hiking (we have a huge forest and some great mountains just in the neighborhood), but the weather forecasts here in Norway's looking pretty grey and rainy, so I'm not sure what we'll do :)

I'm planning some trips to the gym as usual though - that's my very own me-time (and a valid excuse to eat LOADS of chocolate during the weekend LOL!) :beat

My hubby works all weekend...Thursday-Tuesday (stupid 14 hour days) so I won't see him hardly at all. I am trying to avoid going out much cause gas is so high. LOL! I think on Sunday I might go to my mom's cause my sister and family are going to be up and I haven't seen them in ages. We aren't doing anything huge though. :)

In Norway as well!!
How much do you pay for full tank?
Our car has a tank of 60 liters and we pay + - 850 NOK ($155) :o

Note from "hubby" (my bf :giggle):
"We do not live in the richest country in the world for nothing!"

:eyeroll

For us to get a full tank it's been around 70 dollars. so a little less than you guys in Norway I guess! It is so frustrating!

LOL I totally don't remember the last time we had a full tank of gas. We usually put $30 - $50 in at a time. I'm pretty sure if we actually filled it filled it I'd have a heart attack.

Gas prices are ridiculous! It's well over $4 a gallon where my mom lives, some places it's creeping up on $5...:(

Camping for us! With two laptops, a smartphone, a kindle, satellite tv and a microwave. So its debatable if I can really call it camping!

Oh Carly, I'm so sorry about your grandpa. (hugs)

We are staying in town this weekend. I put on a field day/pizza party for Ben's class this morning which went well thank goodness. And this weekend we have a couple bbqs to attend and the kids have a couple parties to go to, too.

I'm so excited that our pool is opening tomorrow, too. Woot!

So I just talked to my sister and she asked when we might make it back home for a visit...I told her probably not this summer because of gas costs...she responded with no kidding. She then went on to tell me that my BIL put gas in his truck last night..$100 and it still didn't hit full...can't imagine.

Oooh a little mini trip to Disney sounds joyous Kelly sweetie!

And ohhh YAY for camping Julie!!

Sorry to hear about your grandpa, Carly.

As for us, DG has the long weekend...we usually have thoughts full of fallen brothers this time of year -- 6 years ago on Memorial Day DG's unit lost three men -- goodness I can't believe it's been 6 years. Wow. ANYway. We always try to honor them by really enjoying our days. So we will be mostly relaxing and we have plans to take Bugga to Kung Fu Panda 2 and DG and I hope to have a date day too. He really wants to see Hangover 2 and I'm always in the mood for a good giggle so that's probably what we'll see. :)

And hopefully I can get some good scrapping time in. I ache for scrapping. ♥

well, we might take the kids to go see the latest pirates of the carribean movie. i have a major crush on captain jack!

other than that, it will depend on the weather. we have no real plans though.

Jim and I have been on vacation all week, so it's been an easy week . . . we went to Inner Harbor on the motorcycle on Wednesday, but the weather hasn't allowed us much ride time.

Tonight we are going to a cook out, then tomorrow we'll spend time with the grandkids. Sunday we are heading to Washington DC on the motorcycle for Rolling Thunder . . . a HUGE motorcycle event that recognizes and supports the veterans. We are going with a large group of friends and a few of us will stop in Maryland for the night before heading home on Monday. I'm excited to be able to take my "real" camera along for this event!
