I've read all 3 of them, book 1 a part really disgusted me but the end of the book had me crying (was heavily pregnant at the time though lmao!!) Book 2 i had to start skipping some of the scenes cause they just got too much for me but book 3 i loved the plot more and the development of the characters and i was very happy with how it ended but at the same time was glad i never had to read them again lol they are worth a read for sure they arent everyones cup off tea i didnt find that the sex parts excited me like other sexy bits from other books had lmao but as i said its something worth trying cause you dont know if your going to like it untill you do I wouldnt say they were a bad read just very different lol

That was a very conservative opinion indeed Michelle! Now I got even more willing to read it LOL
Charlie, I guess you're right, you never know that you're gonna like something until you prove it :giggle I should def. try the first one!! :D
Off to get it on kindle.

As a conservative Christian, I am in the middle of book 2 and I read that blog post and completely disagree with everything she said and all of her reasons are extremely uneducated comments and quite frankly ****ed me off... Yes, the first book is very raunchy and I almost gave up but like Charlie, I really got into the character development and the email exchanges were my favorite part and by the end I was bawling my eyes out because I really wanted them to work out... I'm halfway through the second book and again really love what's going on as they work through his issues to make it work... The s*x is meh... It's just not my thing and maybe because I enjoy my s*x life at home so I don't need to look for erotica in a book... The grammar and typos bug the crap out of me though LOL... but once you get through that it's enjoyable... it's definitely not a classic by any means and once I'm done I doubt I'll ever read it again LOL, so it will be trashed from the kindle, but I'm glad I read it despite that very judgemental, uneducated blog post LOL

I am kinda with Heather on that article and I am an extremely conservative Christian as well. :)

I read all three books. I did not love them. I thin I gave them all two stars. The writing isn't the best. The scenes are completely repetitive and not very original, but the actual story is interesting so I read them all. :)

I liked the character development through the books and found Christian fascinating. I was really annoyed during the first book about all the control issues and subject matter. Books 2 and 3 were better for me as you got to know the characters more. But the sex scenes got old for me too and found myself skimming them to get to the meat of the story. They have received a lot of flack for poor writing etc, but I have to say I did enjoy them while reading them. But I would have enjoyed the characters without all of the S & M and sex scenes. They are making a movie and I am not sure how they will pull that off.

I think I actually won't read them just because of the poor writing problems I've heard so much about!! The sex stuff doesn't bother me per se, but as an English major and editor by trade, I cannot STAND poor grammar, punctuation problems, and generally bad writing. It irks me to think that a writer could've/should've just sucked it up and paid a good editor. For me personally, even if the content is interesting or the storyline is great, I can't get past bad writing. Unfortunately since anyone can self-publish, and kindle makes it super easy, there's a LOT of bad writing out there. Don't get me wrong - I am a huge fan of being able to self publish. BUT that does NOT remove the need to hire a good editor and polish your work!

Um... yeah... I'll get off my soapbox now LOL!!!

And... might still peek at book 1 just out of curiosity! How hypocritical can i be LOL?!

Maybe I'll check one out of the library... Apparently, my (20 year old) daughter's grandmother suggested she read them ?!?

I've heard about the typos and grammar problems and those were the reasons that hold me back. But I'll give the books a try anyway because now I'm very curious about them. Let's see what's gonna happen :giggle I'll come back soon to give you my opinion about them.

I really haven't been bugged too much by the grammar issues, but then again that kind of stuff doesn't really get to me normally. I think it is a good story line, but can be raunchy. I've only read the first book, and I am feeling encouraged by some other comments that 2 and 3 might be a bit better as far as that goes.
