So... I'm not dead.

I finished the marathon. Me and my training buddy ran great for 16 miles (9:50 pace up to that point) and then we turned onto the road where there was no shade whatsoever and I started to wilt a bit (it was HOT). By the time we got to 22, my stomach completely revolted from me drinking too much Gatorade to try to not get dehydrated. Since I have already run a couple good marathons, I made Phil go on without me so he could finish strong, which he did. I walked for a bit until my stomach settled, and then run/walked the rest of it.

But, I've since realized that we should not have been left unsupervised for 2 days. We signed up for like 16 different races/triathlons/bike rides/adventure races/paddleboard races including 2 more marathons in the next 5 weeks and 2 in the fall. We pretty much have something every weekend from the end of June through August.

What our relationship is missing is someone that is sane.

I just wrote up our training plan and... by the end of the summer, I'll either have 0% bodyfat, or be dead. And maybe divorced. Or some combo of the 3. :giggle

Here's a stolen pic of us from earlier in the race while I still had my shirt on. :rofl

So I instantly started laughing... I read I'm not dead.... followed by the proof on the photo. haha. Thats super awesome thought! I love the socks. Are you going to run the New York City marathon? Because I would totally go and cheer for you!!

How did you notice the SOCKS and not the HOT GUY? lol (wanna guess how excited my husband is about this?)

No, we are doing several in Ohio and then hoping for Outer Banks in the fall.

WTG on finishing Angie! That is AMAZING!!! I signed up for my first marathon but it's not until the end of October. My best friend and I are running the http://www.marinemarathon.com/ at the end of October for St.Jude's. Scary...I've done 2 half's but 26.2 just sounds terrifying..I wish you lived closer because I would hire you to coach me!

I have to be honest...I noticed the hot guy

I also noticed the hot guy, but I'm sitting next to wes..... so i had to be careful. ;)

that's totally awesome! congrats on NOT being dead.
because after that. I totally WOULD be! LOL

That's awesome Angie!!! I noticed the socks before the hot guy :) but that's because I'm on this tiny phone LOL

That is SO awesome Ang! Way to go! My hubby ran a marathon last weekend and he also hit a wall at mile 22. Man, it's tough!

And you are cray cray for signing up for 2 more marathons in the next five weeks!!! Maybe I say that because I have an irrational fear that my hubby will die while running a marathon. He wants to do two more this year and I'm being a worrywart about it. Don't make me worry about you too!

Way to go! I hope you can post "I'm still not dead (or divorced)" at the end of August! :giggle

Yes...I just want to do one. The one I do this fall will be the only one I do, cross it off the bucket list and that's that. I don't think our bodies are built for that kind of repeated stress...but you see 80 year olds running them so idk

You are a superstar Angie!!!! Totally amazing!!!

Also I'm in love with your socks.

Also I hope you don't get divorced.

Or die.

It gets easier with each one. I'm not even sore. I even ran 5 miles this morning (48 hours after). Last mile was 9:17, which is good for me. So I guess my body is getting used to distance running.

And that hot guy is 30. I'm 41 lol. He's my friend's son. And my super training partner. He's very thoughtful and caring and always asking if I need anything or if he can carry anything for me. Love him. The best part is, he's as crazy and obsessive as I am. Lol

I did notice the hot guy. In fact, I had not noticed the socks at all. I had to scroll back up once I saw they were being mentioned in the other posts. :giggle

You rock, Angie!!! Although, we missed you at iNSD!
