Small wins

some days i take half a small win - i *try* to drink green tea in the morning for health reasons but i don't love it, some days i just can't do it, i had half the cup this morning but that's better than skipping it completely like the last few days - i have about 5 teabags left in this box, it'll be a small win later in the week when the box is empty, it's been a long few months lol

Umm....that the program I was using over the weekend which lost two sets of data at 98% completion point for an assignment, ll let me finish not one but three things today with data all in tact. Over the weekend it was part human error, part tech acting up.

The non win, is I'm still working on the project/assignment that used that tech. I've already had an extension once but it will get done, just later than I'd hoped
Oh wow! I would be hoopin' and hollerin' over that win! Glad you got to finish some things! Best of luck with the whole project!

Yesterday Monday, I did my walking in the morning (I usually walk M,W,F) and jogged for a small sprint each of the 4 laps back to the house ... (I am in a cul de sac, and jogged a bit each lap back to home)... I have not really run since I broke my humerus and breathing issues, so I am trying small sprints. I do not know how much I will be able to do but I am trying again. [Could be a one & done.. will see tomorrow when I try again.]
I had worked my way up to sprinting a few feet, back when I was really getting into walking and stuff. Maybe I'll get there again and we can give each other virtual high fives!

I finished an embroidery project that I started in November of 2024. :giggle I didn't get very far with it and stuck it in a drawer and forgot all about it. I found it last month and decided to work on it some more while watching TV in the evenings.
Now I'm feeling guilty about the embroidery project I bought last year and have not worked on in months! Congrats on finishing yours! Wish me luck!

My mom's library was missing book 3 of a series and she read 1, 2, and 4 before realizing it. My library has book 3 and I was able to put it on hold for her. It's en route to my local branch so she can read it this weekend. (We live in different counties, even though we're 30-45 min away depending on traffic.)
Awwww...that's so nice of you!

I got a notice from the issuer of the only credit card I have that they would be changing processors in May. The card is currently through Citi Bank and the new processor is Imprint Payments. I had never heard of them so I did a google search which led me to a sub-reddit about credit cards. Not much good information about the company there. I've had this CC for a long time and it has always served me well. I always pay it off and because of that it helped keep my credit score high.

I just didn't know what to do. I don't want to get caught up with a company that is charging people interest and fees on balances that they don't owe. Several people said that when a previous card converted to this company, they had $0 balance at the time of the conversion yet Imprint is saying they have outstanding balances and charging interest.

So I decided to sign up for a new CC thru my bank. Did it on a Saturday morning and I was approved... INSTANTLY! I even have a higher balance (not that I need it but it could come in handy). Got the card yesterday and spent the afternoon making sure any auto payments I had set up are changed to the new card.
I think you did the smart thing there!

Our church is having its last-ever clothing exchange that is a huge event and people all over the community come to. This weekend I went through my very messy closet and found about 1 1/2 big garbage bags of clothing to donate. There was stuff in there that I haven't worn for 10 years or more! Yay to donating things.

Another little win is that we are going through the boys' books that accumulated over the years when they were young, and deciding what to keep and what to donate. We ended up giving a huge selection of picture books to our church for the Sunday school children and a huge selection of young chapter books to a teacher friend that we know for her classroom. Yay to donating more things! :)
Donating things is my jam! My ex hated that I would just give stuff away. He wanted me to sell stuff. Poppycock! I would rather give it away and reap whatever good things the Lord wants to put into my life. Giving is where it's at! I am slowly but surely clearing out my closet as I am trying to keep the weight loss momentum up again.

small win -- yesterday I ran my car through the tire place for pressure check since that annoying little light was on. They were all low, but he took extra time to squirt each tire and check for any leaks -- none found. I even made it to my class at the Y only a few minutes late but still during the warm-up. (Fortunately, I was able to text the instructor to let her know I was on my way.)
One of my favorite services is being able to go to the place I bought my tires for that quick check. Love watching the tire pressure light go off after!

Making it to the gym every other day like I promised myself I would. I didn't get there over the weekend because we were out of town, but I got lots of exercise walking around at the Savannah Bananas game.
I hope you took lots of photos! I can't wait to see your pages about the Savannah Bananas! And here's a :highfive for keeping your promise to yourself!

yeah they aren't all created equal though and it's one of those cost per unit, more bang for buck options that has benfits beyond the ECGC/polyphenol - i mentally can't step up to matcha that's better or tolerate things like dark choc or kale or afford to eat the amount of blueberries that would compete - plus there's apparently insulin sensitivity benefits with green tea so yeah i keep trying to like it - we've been an in an 'on again off again' relationship for a few years now

goodness gracious.. the last 2 days the muscles up the inside of my upper thighs are hurting real bad.. don't know if I can do anything more than walking today! I was getting nervous as that is where I get charlie-horses.. I do not want them too! Thank goodness going for a mani-pedi today too LOL

Yay for the possibility of cheering each other on!! Woot Woot :cheer

It seems like the green tea needs to do better! Like, find a way to present yourself in a palatable manner, Green Tea!

I don't know what this says about the state of things for me, but I haven't had a lot of small wins lately :eyeroll :giggle Last week I had Norovirus (100% do not recommend) and this week I had unexpected travel (which wasn't bad, but still disruptive). I guess my small win is that we made it over the pass before it closed today ... and I got to see my son play college baseball yesterday (when the weather was still ok). Becky, I know you're in the area, so maybe this resonates with you. We did a a Seattle > Pendelton roundtrip -- it was long, but thankfully pretty uneventful!! :heartlub

Does your library do digital? I have been doing all my library stuff on line these days. Rarely need to get a physical book anymore :) Glad you could help your Mom out!

Yes. My mom has one book going on her Kindle and a completely unrelated audiobook playing in her car. I think the only way I found the book she wanted is because I prefer printed books to digital. (In college, I read so much on my computer that I messed up my vision. With how much reading I do for fun, I'm afraid I would do it again.)

I have been clicking things off my to do list for my DD's wedding. Feeling we are on a roll.

PS- @HeatherB you inspired me - I have 2 bags of books I pulled in DECEMBER from the basement to donate (was planning to donate to the local school district, but that required 3 different buildings) and I just looked it up and my local library will take them!

What is wrong with our weather this April? My colleague was having to go over one of the passes this weekend. Hope she made it!
