Small spaces-irritating noises?|pad Patter 10.19

i laughed but i would say u are a very tolerant person! can u put headphones on to zone her out thenwhen she asks u say - oh i just find it so hard to concentrate it's so noisy aorund here - or do u think she'd not take the hint?!

I laugh too... I must or I will go nuts! :P I don't think I could, nor allowed, to wear headphones. :cry
I will keep googling things and using my imagination. :duh

I feel your pain. The nicest lady ever used to sit in front of me (I was fortunate enough to move to an office all to myself a few months ago!) and sings with her ear buds in - so she's a bit loud and a whole lot off key!! :-)

Oh boy. Thank goodness she doesn't SING! Argh!

I can't stand chewing/smacking sounds. Drives me nuts. I also really don't like any repetitive noises, like balls bouncing or like a ball hitting a glove over and over and over or pen clicking. Ahhhhh! I've wanted to take kids' pens at school and snap them in half lol.

Yes... my son's and their soccer ball banging against the front step. STOP... NOW.
:giggle

The sound of people chewing their food (especially crunchy food!) when there's no other noise to cover it up just drives me up the wall! It really gets me at work...there's 3 of us with desks next to each other and we're often so busy we'll eat and snack at our desk. I have to put my headphones in and try to cover it up with music. I cringe just thinking about it.

humming and making random mouth noises for no purpose. My daughter does an activity called Humorous Interpretation. It's an event at speech tournaments. The kids often do sound effects so she is constantly practicing various popping noises with her mouth. It drives me crazy, but I keep silent because I understand why. Plus I know in a short time she'll be moving out for college and I won't hear/see her.

My sister (lives with us at the moment) chews really loudly and slurps, and has a habit of standing right behind me when she does. And she seems to wait until I turn a tv show on to start talking to me (not about the show).
My daughter hasn't got annoying noises so much, but she is constantly noisy, lol. Except when she wants to talk to me, then she can be sitting right next to me and I can't hear her!
Hubby enjoys annoying me by singing songs half a line early. I told him is drove me crazy early on in our relationship and now it is a funny pet peeve he does to make me smile.

Me. I don't have ANY annoying noisy habits, I am simply wonderful :)

I call it cracking or poping my gum - which I do too, but really any constant repeated noise bothers me.
Someone cracking their knuckles makes me nauseous.

oh! I remembered something else!! electric noises upset me. For example, if the TV or monitor starts humming or I'm in Target and they are using that handheld scanner doing inventory or something. There is something loose in one of my kitchen lights. When my dryer is going upstairs above the kitchen, it makes the metal in the light fixture hum. :(

My husband eating. Every. Freaking. Day. There are some times I literally want to cry because it bothers me so much. I try to make sure the tv is on now so I don't hear it, but I still can.

And my dog. Cleaning himself. Slurping and snarfling. Ugh. Makes me cringe.

Kennedy taps and taps and taps, drums and everything else, but that doesn't bother me so much.

If it is super quiet, I can hear energy. That drives me nuts. Luckily, it is rarely that quiet.

AAARGH! across the street from us is a large building that has been under conversion into apartments for about 18 months. We have had endless noise of different sorts all the time. I swear to god it has been totally gutted three times! The inspectors have stopped work quite a few times on this project and every part of it seems to be getting done half-assed. Thus the repeated visits from the inspectors who slap more notices on the building.

At 7am this morning - the noise witching hour round here - a backhoe started digging dirt. It is 9:35 and that whirring hum has not stopped. I am So Sick of That Effin' Noise...

Oh me too - I was in this work situation and had to leave the room until they were done. I still do that at home. It does not bother me if I am also eating but if I am not eating, I just have to leave. And it is a thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia

My step son has a bad habit of wearing his headphones hanging loose over his ears instead of in his ears. When were all going out somewhere he puts his music really loud and since his earbuds aren't in his ears like they should be we all hear it. It gets on my nerves so bad, especially cause I just want to hear the radio and all I can hear is his reggaeton that he loves. It's like the sound of chalk on a chalkboard when it screeches, ugh! Lol

7 kids. Need I say more.

I think I've learned to tune it all out.

2 of my kids are deaf. Deaf kids can be loud, especially when it comes to eating because they can't hear themselves. My newest son doesn't realize he's kicking the counter wall when he's sitting at the counter eating, he can't hear it. Matthew, who has a cochlear implant, will pull his stuff off when it gets too loud around the house. #jealous

It's funny because I just posted this on my facebook with this caption Watching the Panther game in peace and quiet. LOL!

If you only knew how loud it actually was...trains going (those things are loud!), plastic food being tossed around, a play telephone going off, one daughter dancing and trying to make the other daughter giggle.

always make me giggle - especially the trying hard to suppress ones:giggle

The weather here in Northern Illinois is starting to cool down - in the 40's - which means my vehicle will start making more AWFUL sounds ... worse than it does during the warmer weather.
Once the temp drops below freezing my brakes sound like those of a school bus. I used my phone to record the sound to send to the Audi dealership a few years ago - it resulted in new brakes and pads being put on - but - the noise continues! So for the next few months I will be a bit pi$$y whenever I'm in my SUV!
