You guys!! My baby, Jasper, is soooo sick! I am pretty sure it's rota virus (some people say roto?! But everything online says rota? Lol) he's 16 months and it's terrible!!!! I have been doing more laundry and changed more diapers than ever!!! From what I can tell there isn't much that can be done and the Dr office has been closed so I can't call. We have a clinic we can go to on Saturday and Sunday so I'll go in there but just curious if anyone has any experience or could just send some good thoughts my way!

Awww, poor guy, and poor you! Mine never had it but I will definitely be thinking of you both!

I'm so sorry. Those were awful days as I recall. I think all you can do is hydrate. We used to get every flavor of pedialyte for such occasions. The boys would catch on that it wasn't juice & we'd switch to another flavor. Good luck with everything. I hope he feels better soon.

Poor boy it is nasty. The only thing you can do is keep him hydrated with liquids. If he is refusing that you will need to see a doctor. Isn't it always the holidays when these things happen too?

Wishing you both well.

My little 2 had something like this a couple months ago. We never got a true diagnosis because I just called their pediatrician and didn't take them in. They both were sick for almost a month. No kidding. They threw up and had diarrhea for 2 1/2 weeks straight. I still don't know how they didn't get dehydrated. That was the main thing my doc told me to watch for. Also giving them little sips at a time. They would be wanting something to drink and would want to drink a bunch but they would throw it right back up. The nurse told me something about a muscle in the stomach.......so you just give them liquids in very small doses. It helped when I started doing that. My little guy is not much older than yours. He's 22 months.
I am sorry you are dealing with this. It is horrible. I am hoping he feels better very soon.

oh goodness Cyrstal. so sorry to hear that. i think you've got great advice from all the ladies. i have nothing else to add but hope Jasper feels better soon.

Oh no! That sounds horrible. I hate when kids, especially babies are sick. They can't really tell us what's wrong.

Poor little guy!! Great advice from everyone. The only thing that ever landed any of my kiddos in the hospital was dehydration, so keep him hydrated :) Hope he feels better really soon!

Thanks you guys! He seemed in good spirits yesterday but he's soooo grumpy today so I think the stomach cramps have come back and he's in pain. *sob* He actually has been doing really really well with water today. We bought some pedialyte but he won't drink it! He hate juice and flavored things. It's the weirdest thing ever really. They were out of the flavorless kind. :( So will try to get some of it once I can get back to the store. I think tomorrow we will just run him out to the clinic. It's one that our dr works at once a month so hoping this will be his week just because he knows us and Jasper. *sigh* It is really the grossest most awful thing ever!!! I so hope you guys don't have to deal with this anytime soon. The goodness is that everything in my house is going to end up super clean by how much I have had to scrub and wash everything. :/

Keeping little Jasper (and you) in my prayers! Sick babies are so scary... things can go from bad to worse too quickly. Keep him hydrated - does he like frozen Popsicle? The frozen keeps them from getting too much liquid too fast and maybe he'll like the flavored pedialyte better if it's frozen.

oh Crystal, so sorry...I saw his photo on FB .... is so painful for both when they are so little :(
I wish I had advice but I think what the gi8rls say makes sense, hydrate, keep a good temperature, I wish I could do something for you :(

aww sorry to hear little Jasper is unwell Crystal.......... after 4 children and 8 grandchildren I have been through this a few times :) just like the girls have said, give him plenty of fluids with electrolytes in it in small doses.......... and when he is starting to feel hungry again start him off on dry crackers and such until his tummy can handle more solid foods. oh, and plenty of hugs, but no doubt you are giving him lots of those already! :)
