I did a thing today! .. I been thinking hard about this for the past almost 10 years (since Asia was born).. Finally gave in and did it. It is a tattoo that represents my three pieces of my heart, my children. Bianca Rose (purple rose, purple was her favorite color for like ever), Kai Raven (raven) and Asia Rae (rays of sunshine). I am so extremely happy with the outcome! It came out so awesome and I am so pleased! Huge shout out to Mike at Living Canvas Tattoos for all his hard work..

For anyone who is scared to get one done, don't be! I swear it didn't hurt at all. I actually even laughed in spots because it tickled! Yes Tickled! Worse pain was like a cat scratches
Neelix Scratches hurt more...

That is a beautiful piece! I've always wanted one for my kids but I can't decide what to get, and my placement options keep dwindling.

This is the only one I have a pic of right now (it's my fourth and favorite, got it in '16). I did say a few choice words when he was inking the very top of the flames - for me there's always one super delicate part - but other than that, I completely agree. The pain is so minor it barely registers.

Is this on your left shoulder? It's beautiful! For mother's day last year I finished mine in the same spot for the same reasons! ;)

I finally finished my tattoo that I started after my miscarriage 8 years ago! New flower for my son Decs & hummingbird for my Nanny. I saw a hummingbird this morning before my appointment- I think she would have loved it!

I've never considered getting one but not because I'm afraid or dislike them. On the contrary, I'm in awe when I see others' tattooes. Maybe someday. Is there ever an age that's too old to get a tattoo?

I was 52 when I got that one, and it won't be my last. I've known many people who didn't get one until later on - one lady I worked worth got her first on her 60th birthday. None of them ever regretted getting one, only that they waited so long.

Thanks! I'm 47. I like the idea of commemorating children, like Kari did, or maybe I will have a positive quote. Or both! :D

That's beautiful, Kari!! And I love all of these!!
Now is when I wish I was better at tagging my photos haha
This is my left wrist

I have photos somewhere on my EHD in a folder, in some year LOL
My first was a rose on my ankle
My second was a dream catcher on my shoulder blade
My third was a tribal design on my stomach around my belly button
My fourth was a tribal design all the way across my lower back
My fifth was a yin yang sun on the back of my neck
My sixth was to add a vine to the rose on my ankle that goes down on to my foot
My seventh was my wrist

I really want a beautiful watercolor floral on my shoulder...trying to decide on just the right one :)
I love tattoos and the stories behind them!

that's beautiful, Kari!
I have a lotus flower on the same spot as your tattoo, but for me it was a bit painful , specially when the artist was painting it.
I have six tattoos, they are not big, a rose on my right shoulder/collarbone, lotus on my left shoulder, peacock feather on my hip - to cover a scar, a symbol from my city on my arm, a cup of coffee with books on my wrist and a star trail on my ankle.
but I really want to have more...just need money and think about the new location and what to do...

here you can see a bit of the rose:

just to have an idea:

I don’t have any tattoos because I’ve never felt passionately enough about anything to want it tattooed, but as others have said, I can definitely appreaciate their beauty. I always worry about whether I would feel remorse or want to get it removed ... or would the quality degrade. I’m way too analytical about it, lol.

I don’t have one but have thought about it for awhile. I have a Pinterest board of ones I like in case I ever decide to just do it, lol. They are mostly cat designs! What a surprise right?

I had one and removed it. I don´t like Tattoos on women. Sorry. Thinking of a 70 year grandmother with a big Tattoo, no thanks:faint2

I LOVE tattoos! I would do a sleeve if I had the guts, but I don't. I admire them. I would like eventually to get one with my family - Peter and my 2 boys - something that we all pick out together when they get older. Then, I would love to get one that represented my boys. I've played with images for years, but haven't settled.

Yes.my left shoulder..yours is so beautiful too...

I don't have one yet but the next time I see my bestie (who lives 1100 miles away -- SOB!), we're getting matching tats. She already has a few. Depending on when this happens, the actual design might vary. We've discussed before getting an ultra-nerdy tat: the pilcrow (the new paragraph sign in editing).
