I saw this cheat sheet this morning for shooting in manual...wish I had found something like this a few years ago when I was learning!

Yes, it would have been great! I like all the info except the one on exposure. I always have to overexpose with my Canon. Rarely do I ever meter to -0-

oh wow, that nikon meter woudl totally throw me off...over exposed is to the LEFT?

But what an awesome cheat sheet!!! definitely would have loved to have this when I was learning, too...

Yep. Overexposed is to the left with Nikon's. And I always find that I need to overexpose by one or two stops. I never did think of that being odd...until now. Thinking in terms of a number line, it doesn't make sense does it??

Sure - you can even set the exposure compensation so that you can re-set what 0 means once you're SURE you know what works best. Once you set exposure compensation, your new "0" reading is really the old reading that read as overexposed by the meter.

I totally wish I had this when I was first learning! What a great little tool to have on hand for those just learning!

This is soooo helpful! I just decided I want to learn how to change my depth of field. Everything I was reading was total Greek so I thought I had better start at the beginning. I literally just finished reading about ISO, shutter speed and aperture. I knew absolutely nothing this morning. Now I have a very basic understanding and this chart is making things a bit clearer. I will definitely print it out! Now to try to figure out if I can get a point and shoot that will still let me play around with the settings. Thanks so much for pointing out this chart! Best wishes, Roni
