So I lost the pedal to my little tiny cheapy sewing machine and I hadn't even barely gotten any use out of it and I am sad! :( I wanted to piddle with it and I was using it for paper scrap pages etc. Anywho...I kinda want another but I have no idea what kind to look into. I am a total novice and I don't need anything fancy....any ideas?

crystal, i just went to meijer and bought the cheapest singer they had there. it does what it needs to do. covers all the basics. but it's not going to the moon or anything fancy. in total it was about $90 i think.

I just have a cheap Singer that I bought at Walmart years ago but it does great. I have used it for lots of different projects and it has been great. Not sure what kind you already have but I lost the cord to mine not to long ago and just ordered a new one online for around $20.

I bought the cheap Brother from WM since I barely sew and omg I hated that thing so bad. I finally got rid of it and got myself a nice Singer (around $400). I still barely sew, but when I do I'm able to maintain my sanity the entire project. LOL
