Sometimes movie/book sequels get a bad rep. Often times the original is much better than any sequels coming after it. But every once in awhile the sequel is just as good if not better than the original.

Three sequels that come to mind for me that I think are better than the originals are Despicable Me 2 (I think the story is great and Kristin Wiig was fabulous in it), Indiana Jones and the last Crusade (because Sean Connery and a great plot), and Live Free and Die Hard ( because I think Bruce Willis and Justin Long made a great team).

Do you like when a sequel comes out for something you enjoyed reading/watching? Is there a sequel you like more than the original? Is there a sequel that was so awful in your opinion that you don’t even understand why it was made?

First one I think of is Terminator 2. Huge difference from the first.

Then I think of the Twilight saga. Not a sequel like that, but more of a film adaptation thing. Books are soooo bad, but the movies are fine.

One thing I've noticed about TV shows ... for some reason the 3rd season is the worst. Then it usually gets better again in the 4th. So strange. I find it true for so many shows.

I have to throw in The Dark Knight as a great sequel. Also, maybe all of the Toy Story ones lol.
There are tons that so bad!
I will almost always watch the sequel, but I'd say 8/10 times, I'm disappointed.

I'm not a huge fan of sequels. I fall in love with the original and then have trouble accepting the sequels. I'm trying to think of an exception - Maybe "Back To The Furure" - possibly???

I agree with Despicable Me 2 and Indiana Jones.

Never saw Die Hard so I can't say.

Can't think of any movies off the top of my head but I think the Dr. Who TV series gets so much better in season 2 & 3.
