I cannot believe it. A little over two hours from me a mass shooting 14 confirmed dead at this hour and more injured. In a Regional center that serves the needs of the disabled. Why? What is our world coming too? We have a facility just like this one here in my town. I have relatives who use it. Suspected 3 people who entered and opened fire in this facility. This was a planned execution. I simply do not get it. While the last police report does not say anything I am seeing reports online of it being a terrorist attack but in my opinion this is even different then what we have historically seen happen in those types of situations. I mean no hostages and the shooters have fled and their whereabouts are unknown. Typically terrorist want to die in order to become anointed and historically haven't we seen them take hostages? I'm shocked. It's terrible. :hissy

Sending out prayers as well. It's so awful and confusing.

I'm so sorry. I hurt for those affected.

To me, a terrorist is anyone whose goal is to inflict terror in people. I'm so sorry this happened! We don't have tv, but the times reported they have caught 2 of the men so far.

this was my thought when I read the press saying "isn't a terrorist attack"
is this less terrorific if it is done by white/non middle east people?
I think not.

It touches me especially as it was a Disabled People Center.... as a disabled woman, as a human being even...this is dreadful.

The news came with another piece of dreadful ones here in the UK: Parliament approved the bombing of Syria.
That means we can expect shootings and bombing in London again.

As we were talking just a minute ago with Kellie (Dixie) what kind of world are we living in?

My prayers and love are with all of you.
Hoping none of the pad's family has been directly affected....which it is a small consolation but some at least.

It is not true at all that terrorists "typically" want to die and/or take hostages. Timothy McVeigh, Weather Underground, The Copenhagen shooter... way more examples than I can think of this early in the morning....

You open fire on people during peacetime, it is an act of terror. The end.

My heart breaks for all involved ... there is such senseless and overwhelming misery in the world it makes it hard to keep positive.
