I usually just print mine from online, so I prefer the 8.5 x 11 size so I can slip them into a sleeve in a 3 ring binder. Here are some that I found in the gallery:

i love your recipe pages Cath! are you planning on putting together a whole book of them?

like Karen, i too like the 8.5 x 11 size for ease of printing and putting in a binder ... there's a whole bunch of really cute products in the store if you are looking to put together a book or recipe cards or just use cooking elements/papers on a page .... https://the-lilypad.com/store/search.php?mode=search&page=1

i love the ones above with that little notebook ... so cute.

I have always loved the idea of scrapping recipes, but haven't ever actually done it. I have one on my EHD from another store a looooooooong time ago. I will find/post it later.

Depending on what you plan to do with it.... are you asking for recipes? Or tips for creating recipe pages?

Lovely your recipe page, Cath! Another thing you might want to think about is working in a size that there are plastic sleeves for. That way you can wipe off any splatters incurred while you're cooking. I would recommend the 8.5 X 11 too. It will fit snugly on any size bookshelf.

Are you planning to print them out for yourself or give a book as a gift, or something?

pages for me, to have the favorites, out of the billion clippings and cards i have (another time period of hoarding)

I love this thread!! I want to do this for my DIL...hmmmm in my spare time..bwhahahhaha...

Okay.... you'd probably want to think about how you will store them when you print them. I've heard of a 4x6 photo album, maybe a 5x7 photo album. Or, as those ladies mentioned, regular paper size, and putting in page protectors. Knowing how you will store them/use them will help you determine if maybe a landscape or portrait orientation would be more useful. ... think about your favorite cookbooks, and how all recipes follow the same format, so you would probably be able to have a template that works for all recipes, or maybe you change the template per type of recipe, but keep it simple for yourself. Maybe you have a template for desserts, that is slightly different than chicken dinner recipes, or crock pot soups.... but all crock pot soups are in the same template, all different chicken dinners are in the same.... using whichever sorting/system will work best for how you use them.

For me.... most of my recipes are papers I printed, so it would make sense for.me to have the regular paper size, because I know I could easily print and put right in with the others, and I know it will be used.

Once you've determined your use, your system, and your templates, it's easy to throw papers, embellishments, and actual recipes onto your page!

Some key points of a recipe page (for me): ingredients, and instructions. ... I'm not one that really needs an image of the actual dish, though I know others do.

for other ideas, depending on your lifestyle, I also like to include if there are any make ahead instructions, or freezer/leftover instructions. (I have small kids, and making ahead is an idea I'm in love with, even if I haven't mastered the actual implementation! )

If I were trying to tackle a project like this, I would take a minute to set up a few templates that work for you - a place for a photo of the food, a section for ingredients, and a section for instructions. I would set up a file on my computer w/ recipe templates, and then just start going to town! That way there's variety in your layouts, but still consistency in the overall book. Choose a size that's easy to print, or else choose a size that is available in a bound album for printing.

that's me.

I'm about to get rid of ALL my books which don not have a photo-
GREAT that you started this Cath, as I was thinking about looking at the recipes, looking for a photo, scrapping the page,
and so on-
unless is a recipe I treasure and I know well the look of it, is all going-
(can you see me on the purging theme? LOL am on a roll!!!)

You want to think if you want the recipes to put in a book, then maybe keep a reasonably structure of the page...to me it helps when cooking, like ingredients on the right, instructions on the left, I wouldn't stick too many elements as to not to distract the eye so much from the actual instructions....
I see Karen posted one of mine up there, I ll try find some more :)
I made a recipe book for Sarita ages ago, I would like to see if I can refresh those pages :)
