Scrap Stacks is closing 29 Feb

I started there when it first opened... I tried to post my stuff pretty regularly, but just forgot about it for some reason. I think sometimes it's difficult to keep up at too many places...we all have such busy and productive lives, and free time can be hard to come by. I'm sad to see they are closing, though. I really liked the concept of it!
 
I hadn't heard this. I was actually just wondering about it though because ever since I learned that there was a "Stack this" button, I used that and never actually went to the site. It was convenient, but I used to always go browse for other people's layouts and comment and like and once I starting using the button, I never did anymore. I also never got anymore likes or comments on my own pages.
 
Sad to hear! I had issues stacking things, so I didn't stack them there often. Still, super sad to hear it's closing.
 
I Saw that! :( I'm sad for the designers and things. I think there is just too many places and designers to keep up with? :/ I have my favorite places and don't venture anywhere else really :/
 
Awwww... that stinks. I was literally just opening that in another tab when I saw this. It's too bad it didn't work out. I really liked it. It was a nice spot to keep things. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know how I missed seeing that.

Now I'm going to have to switch all my stuff over to Pinterest. Grrr.

Always makes me a little sad to see places close. I have lots of pages there...it was one of my regular spots and a nice place to keep things organized.
 
I can imagine it was a lot of work keeping up that site without a lot of income coming in. The store closed down last year. I was just thinking the other day I should really start paying for the Scrap Packs just to help keep the site open because I really liked it! I like the idea of being able to separate your layouts into boards, so I could see all my CT layouts or Disney layouts all together. So sad it's closing. Thanks for letting us know!
 
I didn't know. That's too bad, I kinda liked the freedom to post there. Who is left - seems like too many are closing..
 
Closing news always make me feel sad :( I was just getting used to the 'Stack It' button ah well...
 
It's always sad when yet another digi site closes and I think Scrap Stacks is an especially sad loss.

I know it's always worrisome for the community when this happens. As scrappers, I think people start to be concerned it's a reflection on the hobby. From my side of the fence, I would say that it's really not at all. This is a wonderful and flourishing hobby! However, the reality is that it's simply much harder to run a business than many digi site owners are expecting. I think that's the biggest reason for the closures.

And as much as it hurts us (the hobbyists) to see another site closing, we have to understand that it was a business decision. Or rather, in regards to us the users, it was business. I'm sure that for any DS site that closes, it's quite personal to the owners who have to wrestle with the decision.
And having said that, THANK YOU to every single admin here at TLP for continuing to make this place awesome and keeping it running. :cheer
