One of my favorite holiday purchases is cinnamon scented pine cones. I love the cinnamon smell, but I'm not big on what to do with the pine cones afterwards. So, this year, DH got smart. He bought cinnamon oil for the diffuser instead! Now, I have a stronger cinnamon smell, and get to enjoy not having pine cones through my house. Because let's be honest. I have a child who builds with everything and anything. The pine cones moved through the house last year in trains, cars, and lego builds. Sigh.

Anyway, long story long...What are your favorite scents? Do you use any fresheners in your house? I love orange and lemon other times of the year. Then my house smells clean.

Just be careful to not diffuse too much of the cinnamon. Best to diffuse only 1 to 2 drops for short periods of time. It is also not a safe oil for children or pregnant women so please make sure the bottle is put away in a safe place.

As for me, I use very few scents. 40 years ago I used incense all the time. As I grew older they started bothering me more and more. Then when my mom got emphysema (and I lived with them), she could have no scents in the house at all. After she passed I tried scented candles and they were too much for me. I haven't worn perfume for over 25 years (started because of mom) because I can't stand the scent! Once in awhile I will diffuse lemon essential oil but for no more than 15 minutes.

Now the other day I had the natural scent of baking cookies in the house... that I liked!

I'm sensitive to scents and hate perfumes and fake scents like from air fresheners.

However, I love natural scents, like from baking. Lemon and cinnamon are my favorites.

I have Scentsy warmers all over my house. I usually have one scent going downstairs and a different one upstairs in the bedrooms. I don't like flowery or perfume-y scents at all. I prefer fruity or spicy. I love anything with cinnamon or vanilla. My all time favorites are black raspberry vanilla and blueberry cheesecake. Right now I have praline spice and a coffee/hazelnut.

I don't use any air fresheners, just a few scented candles once in awhile. I like vanilla or orange scents. But my favorite is walking past someone's dryer vent and smelling the clean laundry or fabric softener. Weird I know! But it always makes me think of warm cozy clothes and sheets fresh from the dryer. We didn't just our dryer very often growing up so it was "special" to have that feeling.

Okay...does anyone remember the Raspberry Glace scent from Victoria's Secret?!!? I really wish they would bring that one back LOL!

Mmm...baking smells are the best! I need to get some baking done.

And fresh laundry is a good smell too!

My favorite scents are "baking" scents as well - and coffee scented candles.
I do have a diffuser I use in the bedroom at night that diffuses lavender - I do like that scent, but wouldn't want it all over the house.

Right now, I'm enjoying Apple Cinnamon plugins. Before that I had Blooming Peony and Cherry and really liked it. I also like orange and lemon smells. My fave candle smells from B&BW are Leaves and Autumn.

One year my kids made medallion necklaces from air dry clay for Christmas gifts. We add a few drops of essential oils to it and it acts as a portable diffuser.

We take the cinnamon pinecones & glitter them as decor for the rest of the winter. Then they get packed away with the holiday stuff & brought back out next year. I put them in big ziploc bags, so they retain some of their smell- although it does wear off. I really love the pine tree smell right now- having an artificial tree means we don't get it naturally, so I usually put a few wax melts in our warmer- one cinnamon, one pine tree & it's totally festive! ;)

Most scents give me a migraine. It's quite sad. But I can handle lavender and vanilla for some reason. I'm not big on scented candles just because the scents aren't good for me (asthma), but I did get a candle at Colonial Williamsburg that is Pecan Pie. OOh, it's heavenly! And it doesn't bother me, either.

The other scent that I love is a mish-mash of things. I'm a big Colonial Williamsburg fan, and I love the smell of the four scented soaps they sell in the historic area stores. It's a combo that I just love, so I bought a set and keep it in my car. It reminds me of being there, and when the scent has gone we have some soap to use!

Ugh. I used to love the cinnamon smell and then one day while I was pregnant I went grocery shopping and there was a big ol' bag of those pine cones. I was super sensitive to smells when I was pregnant and those about did me in. I remember almost getting sick. I can take it in small doses but don't prefer to have it in my house...to many bad memories. LOL!

At this time of year I do like the smell of the Christmas tree.

Last year about this time my MIL gave us a Scentsy wax melty thing. I didn't expect to like that thing so much, but I LOVE it! I have it in the kitchen and love trying out new scents. I have two right now that I love... pumpkin cupcake and flaming orange. The orange one is super strong and I love it. I wish the pumpkin cupcake one was a little stronger too, but I love that one too.

winter flavors of baking and christmas... autumn I like the pie flavors and then everyday I like linen or hazelnut :)
