Scanning photos? Just thinking it may be time? HINTs?

I scan on my printer, and it does seem to take forever, but the quality is good. Have tried taking a photo more than once, but I am a lousy photographer ,so it is not the best option for me.

Have any of you heard of Legacy Box? You can send VHS tapes in to be put on DVD and send in pics to be scanned for you. I've wanted to try it, but I'm worried about sending my pics and them getting lost or something.

I only scan a few at a time or I'd go nuts. As I need them, want to scrap them.

I've taken quick photos -even with my iPhone of little things I want to include on my digital pages - like notes my daughter wrote me in preschool or a metro card I wanted on a layout - so quick and easy - but I don't think I've ever thought to take a photo of an old photo. That's a great idea. Sometimes I just don't want to deal with the scanner!

Good luck with your project Anne. Sounds like an awesome idea and one I'd like to try myself! You might have started a little trend here. :agree

I haven't heard of this one but I know some scanning services ship elsewhere even after you've shipped to them so if you choose to go that route, find out of the place you choose does it in house. If you have a nearby camera shop they may do it as well. It would typically cost more if they do, but there's no shipping involved.
