I have got a lot of pre-digital photos that I need to scan. Unfortunately, the all-in-one printer/scanner I had been using went with ex DH in the divorce :( It was a large A3 one which was really good, but I just don't have the room for such a big device any more. Can anyone recommend one good for scanning photos. I've also got a huge pile of paperwork I'd like to scan, so if you've one that's got an auto feed as well that would be really helpful. Thanks :)

I haven't scanned photos in, but I think Jan scanned quite a lot of photos in and could tell you what she chose.
@QuiltyMom Otherwise, my only resort besides a personal recommendation would be to ask on FB, and to use google/CNET/Tom's Guide.

Good Luck!

I bought an all-in-one about two years ago because my old scanner started scanning terribly and super grainy. I don't know what changed on it (or what broke) but it was time for an upgrade. I bought an Epson EcoTank ET-4800 and have been very happy with it. It doesn't do slides, but has a flat bed scanner and also a document feeder for scanning (but I haven't tried that yet)

@Karen I checked that one out and it looks good, but whilst looking at the different sites, I found this one which is actually cheaper and which will handle A3, which would mean I would be able to (with a bit of cut off) scan my paper layouts. It also does double sided scanning. I have £250 sat in my company's rewards system and I'm really considering it. The only problem is that it's bit on the big side and, well, I have limited space. Cheaper is better and that's so cool that it does double sided! I would love to scan all my paper layouts someday to have everything digitally in one place. Also fantastic that you have rewards money waiting to buy it for you! You'll have to report back and let us know how it works!
