I am coming back to digital scrapping after a few year hiatus. Back in the day I scrapped on a desktop computer using photoshop and just used a “save for web” action I’m sure I downloaded from here. Now I scrap on an iPad using Affinity photo and was just wanting ask if anyone has any tips, steps, work flow, etc… for saving for web. I’m noticing that my uploads are blurry. My step right now is to resize my layout to 700x700px at 72dpi and then just saving like that. Obviously that’s not working and I am not very tech savvy so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any help is very appreciated.

@gracielou I use Affinity. I'm on Windows and just use the Windows image resizer for my pages. However I can help you work out how to use Affinity for the job. It has different ways of doing this.

Which Affinity program are you using? Publisher, Photo or Designer? They have different functions that can be used for image resizing to each other. (I use all 3).

I just wanted to say Hi and it's so nice to see you again! (I think it's Amanda, right?!) Great to see you scrapping again! I don't use affinity unfortunately.

Yes, it’s Amanda! So good to be back. I’ve missed you all. Thank you for popping in and saying hi!

There are two ways of creating a smaller version of your file using Affinity Photo:

1: Using the resize document:
Go to Document/Resize Document
Try different settings.
2: Using export manager
Go to File/Export
Try different settings.

Angela is such a rich source of information, so I'm glad she's popped in to offer help.

It's so good to see you back with us again, and documenting and sharing your memories here with us at The Pad!

thanks for the help. I have been using the resize option but for whatever reason I just can’t work it out to not be “soft” or blurry. I will keep trying to play around with it and maybe eventually figure it out. That’s pretty much how I’ve had to learn everything anyway…trial and error and google.

That was a helpful article and actually explained about save for web to me. Thank you for taking the time to find that. I am still playing around with settings and my latest page upload was a little better so hopefully I can master this quickly. Sometimes I really hate tech stuff:badputer

Welcome back to scrapping! I look forward to seeing more pages from you. :)

I also use Affinity Photo on iPad for all my pages and this is the only thing I don’t like about it. The quality on low res images are a bit blurry and I haven’t found a way to get it crisp. I have found that 800x800 is the smallest size that is ok, lower is really not that good. If you find a way, please let me know!

@Annsofie Thanks for the tip about 800x800. I will try that on my next save. I got so frustrated and just started opening them on my iMac from the cloud and saving through photoshop with a save for web action by Paislee Press. I agree about this feature being the only thing not so great about Affinity Photo. I love everything else. It’s all so much easier to maneuver and work than photoshop.
