Today is Sandwich Day. Yep, there really is a day for everything! So, in honor of the glorious fabulous sandwich -
giphy.gif

What's your favorite?

Me? I like a good one that someone else made!
Or chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomato.

It's hard to eat a sandwich when I haven't had any bread since August.

LOL Donna!!
I love a good breakfast sandwich - eggs, cheese, tomato, avocado on an English muffin.

I don't really like sandwiches much. But if I needed one my preference would be egg mayo with cucumber and cress

I love sandwiches!

I love scrambled egg or egg salad sandwiches, but since I have an egg allergy, I can't enjoy them anymore. I mean, I **CAN** enjoy them while I'm eating them, but afterwards I get a headache and just feel super yucky!

I love a good BLT. Jersey Mike's has a great one and they don't skimp on the bacon. Nothing beats homemade though!

I made some turkey breasts Thursday night and so for dinner last night I had a turkey sandwich. It was SO yummo!

I love open faced hot sandwiches, like roast beef and gravy over toast.

Well, if any of you have been to a Watch Cheryl Scrap, you know I love food AND that Courtney @bestcee and I love to TALK about food. LOL

Yes! Even a bologna sandwich is better when someone else makes it!

This is a great day for this, because I just found one of my favorites again yesterday after searching and not finding it in forever! Braunschweiger! I don't like to think too much about it being liver sausage, but it's a sandwich my mom made for me when I was little and I loved it before I knew what it was lol.

But I adore sandwiches! Some of my favs are:
reuben
egg salad
chicken salad
blt
bologna and cheese

Fried bologna is #1 on my list followed closely by grilled cheese or BLT.

Sadly, I have not been able to eat the bologna or BLT for over 18 months. Been 6 months for a grilled cheese. Soft food diets are the pits.

Oh man, I love fried bologna!!

Sandwiches are the bomb! I'm drooling just looking at that image Courtney!

My favorite is a panini with pesto, mozzarella, tomato, roasted peppers or eggplant, and spinach or arugula. If I'm just going for a sub/hoagie, I love the basic Italian sub - Jersey Mike's, YUM!!!

My favorites are chicken salad (made with dill pickle relish and lots of onions), egg salad, and BLT. I also like making sort of fried wrap with deli meat, cheese, and a sauce (mustard, bbq, leftover Chick-fil-A sauce, etc.) in a tortilla - fold over and "fry" in non-stick pan.

I used to love eating egg salad, BLT, and fried egg. Separately, of course! Every once in a while a Reuben would sneak in there. Now I’m severely limited, so my fave is pesto tuna salad with tomato and avocado. Yum!

Roast beef, with dried roasted onions ,a Danish remolade. ( mayo, mustard pickled cucumber, mild spice, all blended into a sauce ) on white bread.

Or on wholemeal or brown bread : Hungarian Salami, with raw onions and mayo..

Last. It not least, Danish black bread with any kind of Simi soft fairly strong cumin cheese , 1slice of bread only,so open..
Yummy I wanna eat now.

I am bored with sandwiches and don't eat them much. Unless you count burritos as sandwiches. I eat one of those almost every day; usually my scrambled egg and veggie burrito in the morning, and sometimes also more typical beef, beans, and veggie burritos for lunches or dinners.

I eat a turkey sandwich every other week or so.

My favorite sandwich is Avocado Toast. That's a sandwich, it's just open-faced. Here's a photo I made of one of my avocado toast lunches in September. The bread is Garlic Tuscan from Wegmans, and I like to butter it before glopping on the avocado. I always eat at least half an avocado this way.

Well, since I love bread - I love any kind of sandwich. My favorites right now are grilled cheese and egg and cheese sandwiches.

I really don't make myself sandwiches much at home. If I do, I'm a basic turkey girl. Bacon is always good on it.

But from places around town...
Deli Delicious - Chipotle Chicken
The Habit - Chicken Caprese (limited time sandwich)
Jersey Mike's - Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak (so messy!)
Jimmy John's - Turkey Tom or JJBLT

egg mayo with cucumber and cress
cress - watercress? Just checking! I don't know if I've ever had that sandwich. Is it hardboiled sliced eggs? Or like mashed up egg salad eggs?

It's hard to eat a sandwich when I haven't had any bread since August.
Munchkin calls lettuce wraps "sandwiches without bread". Do you ever do those?

I love a good breakfast sandwich - eggs, cheese, tomato, avocado on an English muffin.
Mmmm! Breakfast sandwiches!

I'm intrigued by this almost-quesadilla sandwich. It sounds delicious!

Braunschweiger
I've never heard of this. And the liver frightens me a little.

Soft food diets are the pits.
Um, yes. That sucks.

grilled cheese
Mmm! Costco does a sample of grilled cheese made with a butter with garlic and Parmesan and stuff mixed in. It always makes me hungry!

Jersey Mike's
Never eaten there. But you are the second to mention it. Hmmm....

my fave is pesto tuna salad with tomato and avocado
This sounds good! Munchkin loves pesto and I love tuna.

Danish remolade
I've actually had remolade before but it was made by Germans. Is it very different?

Simi soft fairly strong cumin cheese
Oh! Like there's cumin mixed into the cheese? This sounds like a dream for tacos.

Avocado Toast
yes, totally a half sandwich! And looks yummy in your photo.

egg and cheese sandwiches
How do you do the egg? I like a breakfast egg and cheese with bacon or ham. Usually I end up half fry, half scrambling it.

Jersey Mike's - Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steak (so messy!)
You had me at Buffalo Chicken. It sounds messy but fabulous!

I just taught my dd how to make an egg sandwich - my grandson loves them too. Fry the egg in real butter - make the egg semi-hard (break the yolk right at the end) and keep ladling butter over the egg. You can flip it at the end if you want, but you can just "bathe it in butter" also, if you want. When it's done, take a spatula and go under the egg just so it doesn't stick. Leave the egg in the pan, but remove the pan from the heat. Then put the cheese on top (we use Kraft Singles) and put the lid on the pan for just a couple of minutes to let the cheese soak in. We don't like ours on toast - plain bread, with mayo. YUMMMMMMMMM Let me know if it turns out for you.
