I head out this week to DisneyWorld to run the Princess Half Marathon - as well as the 10k and the 5k race (am I crazy or what?) This will be my first half marathon, and I have never ran 3 races like that in 3 days! I generally train with rest days! I know there are a few runners here at the Pad...what are your suggestions???!!! And please reassure me that I am not CRAY-CRAY! I am not a big "medal" type person, but my friend is, and she signed us up for the Glass Slipper challenge, so we will walk away with 4 medals. I am not excited for the early morning wake-ups all three mornings and the sore legs the rest of the week. Hope I can recoup to actually enjoy the 5 days after all the races are done and relax in some warmth! Oh yea, and here is the other thing...I have done ALL my training indoors on my treadmill because it has been like 10 degrees here or less since November!!!

Wow! I have absolutely no advice. I'm planning to run my first 5k in May at the request of my daughter. So, no expertise at all!! All I can say is you go girl!

Thanks Ashley!!! Good luck with your run and training too - I started with a 5k, and while I don't like running it is kind of fun to race and have that feeling of accomplishment - and what an example for your daughter! Way to go!

My hubby just did the Goofy Challenge last month, which was a half and full marathon on consecutive days. He is a pretty serious marathoner but let all of that go and ran for fun. He had a great time and got a ton of amazing photos, especially with characters. I would just take it easy on the runs and enjoy the experience. Don't try to go to fast. Stretch well afterward.

The worst part was the early wakeup - he had to catch a 4:15AM bus at our resort both days, which was brutal. He was still able to come with us to the parks the days he ran the races, after he caught a nap. We went the parks everyday for five days and he was fine.

Great tips Carolee!!! Thanks! And tell him way to go - even if he did it just for fun and not to PR - that is alot of running!!!

Good luck Amanda - I am sure you will be fine. There will be so much excitement and estrogen in the air :) I really want to race the Glass Slipper one day.
