Road Trippin'

I think just if you want to stay in the park, book early. But there are lots of nearby places to stay, we went a couple years ago and were able to book a spot at KOA campground just outside Jackson Hole a few days before. The park is huge! We were actually only able to spend one day in the park but I still felt like we were able to see and do a lot! Good luck & have fun!

Did you take a tent or did you travel in a camper? Or, did they have little cabins? I have stayed at other KOA campgrounds before but I know they are all a little different.

Not sure if you're headed down that way, but just outside of Salinas is a place called Casa De Fruta. It's AMAZING. All sorts of yummy and healthy (and some unhealthy) snacks that you can take and eat on your trip. That's the one thing I recommend, LOTS of snacks that you don't have to keep refrigerated, it saves the day!

Oh, I've been to Casa de Fruta a million times. :)

I'm simultaneously chuffed and sad that you already knew. LOL! I miss it soooo much. /sigh :tantrum

They had the little cabins, with a fire pit & tables outside.

This is good to know. I do think we were looking to stay in the park when we were researching - and wanted to stay at one of the cool historic lodges.

Sounds awesome! We want to go to Yellowstone from Michigan via road trip someday soon too!
