It's Rice Krispie Treats Day!
I really do like them, but could not tell you the last time I had one. It's not something that I have made very often over the years, and I'm not sure why lol. When I saw that it was today, I started looking at all the variations you can do and now I want to buy all the things!

Do you like Rice Krispie Treats? Do you make them often? Any variations or just the original?

And in case you prefer a cheeseburger, it's also National Cheeseburger Day and lots of places have deals going on - Cheeseburger Deals :)

We love Rice Krispie Treats! I'm way too lazy to bake cookies so they're my go-to. They are the best with Great Value marshmallows and salted butter. I love them with Hot Tamales in them. I also love the s'more version with Golden Grahams cereal and chocolate chips. My mom would make them with half Fruity Pebbles cereal when I was growing up but I haven't made that version for awhile.

We love rice crispy treats..it is my friend scotts favorite so I tend to make huge batches for him at least once a month. My mother loves scotharoos or those peanut butter crispy treats.. so I also make those for her sometimes

As for cheese burgers I guess we celebrated today cause we dropped my daughters best friend off at home (about an hour half away from us)..she's like another daughter to me..and csme to my bridal shower/bachelorate last night . Anyways. Eric and I stopped at Five Guys and had to eat burgers on way home...they have the best and are opening one very soon in our town.. suppose to open actually day after our wedding.. Eric says best wedding gift ever...lmao

I adore the Golden Grahams version! Yum! Definitely need to add that to my next grocery list!

We had Five Guys yesterday! Soooo good! I'd agree that's a pretty great wedding gift :giggle

I never really learned to cook but when it came to rice krispie treats, I was the expert!

Mom cut the original recipe off the cereal box all those years ago and I still have it. I had many people tell me that mine were so much better than others they had eaten in the past. Since this was in the age of the internet I googled the recipe and found several that said use 4 cups of cereal. Mine was 6 cups (and still is on the Kellogg's website). I also melted the butter and marshmellows at the same time.

I also make a recipe Mom and I called "Choco-Scotch Clusters". Looking at my recipes from the Kellogg's box, it looks like we adapted one they call "Peanut-Butterscotch Bites" which use the cereal, butterscotch chips and smooth peanut butter. I also put chocolate chips in it. We dropped the mixture in clusters on waxed paper. Or you can do it the easy way and put it into a pan and cut into bars. I've also put chow mein noodles in the mixture when doing the cluster version.

Whenever we had a carry-in at work, rice krispies was my contributions. I also made these for a goody bag contribution at scrapping retreats and yep, family get-togethers as well. I couldn't ruin these!

I love them but only make them once a year, at Xmas, at my hubs' request. I eat a couple but usually don't overindulge b/c of the high sugar content of the marshmallows. I make the standard recipe from years ago, that was on the inside of the cereal box.

I used to make Rice Krispie Treats all the time but haven't for a while. I love them, but don't eat them very often. (I made the original recipe on the back of the box. too.)

I actually split a cheeseburger with my DD today. We went through McDonald's (for a drink) and she talked me into splitting a cheeseburger. I rarely eat any fast food and it actually tasted pretty good. I wouldn't want one all the time, but it did taste better than I remembered.

I love homemade Rice Krispies Treats, but I can't tell you the last time I made them. I've always thought they'd be yummy with Cocoa Krispies.

I bake all the time but Rice Krispie Treats are something that I never make. I think I've made them once or twice in my life...not really sure why! I have tried the Golden Grahams version and those are so good! I also recently tried Scotcharoos and my kids just adored them so I guess that will be our version of Rice Krispie Treats LOL

We just made rice krispies but with fruity pebbles. SO yum!! One of our fave bakeries does these as well as other cereal- the lucky charms treat is super good too! We make them at home often, it's one of my husbands favorite treats and he usually is the one that makes them!

I figured you could just sub out the Rice Krispies with Cocoa Krispies, but I saw a few recipes with added chocolate and/or cocoa powder.

This is so funny that you posted this because I haven't had rice Krispie treats in forever and I just bought the stuff to make them when I went grocery shopping a few days ago. I haven't actually taken the time to make them yet though. I love them and it's rather dangerous to have them in the house. :giggle

I love them! Now, I want to make them! lol!

I never heard of Golden Graham version! I must google! I love that cereal!

It's super yummy if you replace the Rice Crispies with Reece's Puffs cereal!

My son would love this! Saving that tip!
