Did you know that today is National Regifting Day? Me neither.

Here's a fast 5 for Regifting:

Have you ever regifted?
Did it go well or lousy?
To your knowledge, have you received a regift?
Do you like the concept or not?
What do you do with presents that aren't right for you? (Not just December holidays, birthdays, Mothers Day, etc).

If it's Christmas Eve for you, I hope you have a splendid one. If it's Christmas Day: Merry Christmas! If you celebrate another holiday, I hope it was fabulous, or will be fabulous!
Feel free to share what you celebrate this time of year.

Feliz Noche Buena <===== Merry Christmas' Eve

We have, I think not in a while. We used to a lot when B was little. Bianca used to get a lot of super girly stuff she didn't like and she had friends that would love to have those.

Have you ever regifted? Yes. Multiple times
Did it go well or lousy? No one’s the wiser...
To your knowledge, have you received a regift? Yes
Do you like the concept or not? Yes. If the item is in mint condition and you know the other person would love it, why not?
What do you do with presents that aren't right for you? (Not just December holidays, birthdays, Mothers Day, etc). Give them away, regift, or donate - unless it was given by someone who would KNOW if you still have it or not. (We all know that type of person, right?). We even regifted a wedding gift. It looked nice, but was totally cheap and not our style. We kept it and hung it on the wall for when the person visited, then it ended up as a white elephant gift at DH’s office. Everyone thought it was wonderful ... at first. In fact, it was brought back to the same event for about 6 more years, and it was the running joke that the newest colleagues would always want it, but they could never get rid of it! Lol!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Have you ever regifted? Yes! For sure!
Did it go well or lousy? Well as far as I know :)
To your knowledge, have you received a regift? I'm sure I probably have.
Do you like the concept or not? I love the concept. If it's something that I just don't need and know someone else would love it, why not?
What do you do with presents that aren't right for you? Depends. If it's from one of my kids, I'll usually keep it (at least for a while :giggle). From most anyone else, I usually regift or donate.

Have you ever regifted? Yes, mostly gift cards and duplicates of items I already have.
Did it go well or lousy? It's always been fine.
To your knowledge, have you received a regift? Most definitely. Sometimes it's obvious and other times I probably didn't know the difference. This story isn't Christmas-related, but one of our wedding gifts actually had a card addressed to the gift-giver still in the box, lol.
Do you like the concept or not? I think it's perfectly fine if the recipient will enjoy the gift.
What do you do with presents that aren't right for you? (Not just December holidays, birthdays, Mothers Day, etc). Donate, regift, offer on my local Buy Nothing group, store in my garage (I'm trying to not hold onto stuff, but it's hard!)

Happy, happy holidays!

Have you ever regifted? Yes if I didn't use it
Did it go well or lousy? Most times they did not know
To your knowledge, have you received a regift? Yes, I am pretty sure I have.
Do you like the concept or not? Only if the person doesn't know and I don't accidently give it back to the original giver.
What do you do with presents that aren't right for you? Regift - especially for those White Elephant events. I have also donated things.

I have a friend who often gifts me with finds from the thrift stores she frequents. Often they are things I would never use, so I have donated them back to a thrift store.

Have you ever regifted? Yes, but not anything "important," if that makes sense.
Did it go well or lousy? Well...but I don't regift things at the holidays or bdays. I give things and say "Someone gave this to me, but I immediately thought of you and wanted to pass it on." That way the recipient knows I didn't buy it, but they also know I was thinking of them. And it also means if they don't like it, then they don't have to feel bad if they either pass it on or donate it. Basically, I don't want to use my friends as my trash collectors, ykwim, but I also want to spread the joy. :)
To your knowledge, have you received a regift? Ummm, IDK. But I wouldn't care. Gifts aren't my love language.
Do you like the concept or not? Like? Sure. There's too much trash in this world. Too much consumerism. If you truly know someone else could use it, then why not pass it on? Once you give a gift, you have no control over what the recipient does with it. (Which is why it's okay to throw out/donate/regift something that you don't love. Guilt shouldn't be why you hold onto things.)

Okay, I don't burn it. I donate it. I hate having stuff around that I don't need/want.
