Long ago, like 20 plus years ago, my hubby and I walked hand and hand and saw a Mazda Miata convertible. We laughed as we was POOR and newly married. One day, we will get one!
today we bought a RED one!! this is stock photo....I am in shock and ours is dirty! lol

I drove it home with my 7 year old squealing and I think I may have been yelling Yahoooooooooooooooooooooooooo really loud too!
We went thru the drive thru at Wendys (my twins are working) they were dumb founded at their mom!
My hubby took the rest of the day off to do title and everything.

I told him in 9 hours we could watch the sun set in California! lol

the reputation of a prankster...don't buy red convertible on April fools day...
but we did, and I am just so happy..not headed to California..but inside I am wanting to just go!
 
I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!! Yes!!!! I just finished reading your post to my Honey and showing him your photo here. And I read to him about your sweet family that you posted a few days back. I am in tears. Literally. My heart is so touched that you have your RED CONVERTIBLE!!!!! My Honey is too. This is just so exciting!! I say you need to take that 9 hour ride and head out to see that sunset. Go for it!! And.....I hope you really were yelling Yahoooooo! really loud as you drove home.

Uhhhmmmm....this is for reals, right? It isn't an April Fool's joke? I am crying these happy tears for a real thing, right???? :)
 
oh dear @Jan it is for reals!! my hubby is vacuuming and detailing it, I will take some pics of her in a bit!
I don't do tear producing jokes for April Fools...lol

and I am LOUD just normally...so my yahoo may have been heard for miles (but my family and most of my town know me) lol
 
I just think this is the neatest thing. The way it made me feel, you'd have thought it was us doing it. I am truly happy and excited for you and your hubby. Dreams do come true. We've had a few of our own come true. And the tears...well, I cry over a lot of stuff anymore. Comes with being older I think. That and always having a tender heart for things. Anyway...ENJOY!!!!!

I'm going to wait and see the picture and closely examine for extractions and paste overs and even then I may have to write one of your kids and ask for a particular pose

you don't do tear producing ones? like how did the son react to the fake all his tickets or whatever are active?

Oh and I want a leprechaun in the car with you.

I've been practicing my skepticism, not being gullible, and saying no to phone call pleads -- can you tell?

I am afraid I am with @carilyne I am a little bit skeptical. You are a bit of a trickster @AnneofAlamo but you are totally right, "don't buy red convertible on April fools day..." Hahaha!!
 
rent a car for a day? sorry Anne I'm mean but starting to slip over to your side. Only 6 more hours to hold out and the truth can come out.

bahhha, yeah I can see me doing that....lol I totally understand...gonna tuck that idea away for another year! lol
but I will say, my jaw aches from driving it today.
I took each kid individually with the top down, and we went on the high way and had the music loud and OUR hands up in the air...just the best feeling!
that and because we didn't buy it in 1999, we got it cheap!! lol
