Hi everyone. I bought my first lens today and my Canon Rebel xti is on its way. Being that I don't even know how to put a lens on a camera I'm thinking I should get a photography book. I'm going to the library tomorrow to see what I can find. I'm thinking of buying a book specific to my camera model and maybe another one to explain basic concepts such as what is white balance and why do I need to do it and how to take visually appealing photos. Do any of you have a favorite/must read that would be good for a beginner? I truly know nothing about photography. I'd love suggestions. Thanks soooo much.

Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson is a good starter book. And then either the camera manual, or like you said a "dummies" type book about Canons or something.

The lens is really easy to put on. :)

Hey, what do you know, there really is a Dummies book for the XTi.
