I was just thinking today... with myself being a digital scrapbooker and all, why have I not tackled my own personal recipe book? You know, a book to contain all of my family's favorite recipes (vs having printed computer paper with recipes I printed from online scattered around)

Have any of you done this?
What company did you use?
Did you get a book printed?

I found this one online, but don't know much about it.

that is an awsome idea and Christina, what an awsome post!! Also gotta say I looooove the idea of making a recipe book as a gift, cause everyone always loves my cooking :D hehe. Also loooove the photobook for your parents, I so wanna make one for mine!

I was just about to jump in and point you to Christine's blog - but she beat me to it!! :) I love the idea of making one with all the extended family's favourite recipes in too, what a lovely keepsake that would be!

I really wanted to make one, but only got one page done. LOL My plan was to make a page every week and have a full book to print by Christmas. Maybe next year!

i've been meaning to do this for my family's thanksgiving recipes - thanksgiving is a really big deal for us and my mom and aunt spend a week cooking, so i know that they would love it if i made them one ... i doubt i'll do it this year, but maybe next ?! i like jenn's idea of one page/week :)

I have one in the works at PaperCoterie. It is a book that is fairly laid out already for you and there isn't much room for doing your own thing - but for me they are cute, practical, a good price, and easy enough to pull together by Christmas! :) I do think "family" recipes are so important to keep and preserve! I know I wish I had many by grandmothers and previous generations!

These are really really all great ideas!! Thank you!
I'm off to check on your projects you posted.

A friend of mine did hers brag book size (4x6) and one sided.
I think 8x8 would be great size. I'm thinking a book with my family's holiday recipes and photos of us all through the years scattered throughout would make an awesome Christmas gift. Hmm... I better get on that.

I made a recipe book. But it was just before/as retailers were offering bound books of your created pages.

I had all the pages printed, put them in page sleeves/protectors & placed them in a regular paper-scrapping book. I even had to add in expanders. The one nice thing is that if anything get's splattered or spilled, it will wipe off easily.

What a fabulous idea! I have this notebook filled with loose sheets and my DH hates it! LOL
I think I really need to find me some time because not only do I want the pages of a personal cook book nicely scrapped....I will also have to type all those recipes out. Oy?!!

I've been thinking about this, since so many of my fave recipes are in english. I think that one day I will translate them into norwegian and have them all printed. The only thing keeping me from doing it yet, is that I don't have enough fave recipes. I don't want to print a bunch of recipes I haven't tried. But I think it's a wonderful idea :)

I really really want to do this. Loving all the ideas in this thread!
