Hi everyone! So happy to be here hosting a new Hear My Voice themed Mixed Media Challenge. I hope you’ll join me!
Not familiar with Hear My Voice? It’s a monthly collaboration by Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson Designs. Every month, they create rich textures and unique digital artistry using a variety of mediums, giving you everything you need to express your thoughts and feelings through art journaling or mixed media scrapbooking. This challenge is a special space for collectors of Hear My Voice Digital Art to dive into their stash, spark creativity, and connect through shared inspiration.
First, let’s congratulate last month’s random winner of the HMV collection - @jagruti patel
This month, we’re exploring the theme of HIDING. Hiding can be an act of protection, offering safety and time to gather strength, or an act of fear, keeping truths, emotions, or vulnerabilities concealed. Hiding carries both comfort and tension—comfort in the shadows where one feels unseen, and tension in the possibility of discovery. Hiding can also feel like slipping into a secret world of your own making. It might be tucking beneath a blanket fort, squeezing into the back of a closet, or crouching behind a tree with stifled giggles as footsteps draw near.
Here are some ideas that may spark your creativity:
A few ideas for things to include on your page might be:
Here's my page! I took the theme very literally and scrapped how fun it is to play hide and seek with my grandbabies. They always think they are hiding when they are right there with their eyes closed. It's too cute!

- Write about a time when you felt the need to hide—physically, emotionally, or even in your thoughts. What were you protecting yourself from?
- Where is your favorite “hiding place,” real or imagined? What makes it feel safe or comforting?
- Think about something you’ve hidden from others. Why did you keep it secret, and how did it feel to carry it inside?
- Explore the idea of hiding as play. What childhood memories of hide-and-seek or secret hiding spots come to mind?
- Reflect on the difference between hiding to feel safe and hiding to avoid something. How do you know which one you are doing?
- If you could hide away from the world for a while, where would you go and what would you take with you?
- Imagine the ultimate hiding spot—where would you disappear to, and what makes it impossible to find you?
- Write about your funniest or silliest game of hide-and-seek. Did you outsmart everyone, or get caught right away?
A few ideas for things to include on your page might be:
- Photos of kids playing hide-and-seek, pets tucked in funny spots, or cozy corners where someone likes to curl up.
- Peekaboo flaps or lift-the-flap elements that hide little photos or journaling underneath.
- Doors, windows, or envelopes to “conceal” memories or messages.
- Silhouettes or shadow shapes to represent hiding in the background.
- Leaves, trees, or blanket fort embellishments to show hiding places.
- Magnifying glass or footprints stickers for a playful “search and find” feel.
- Journaling strips tucked into pockets to reflect hidden thoughts.
- Playful titles like “You Can’t Find Me!”, “Secret Spot”
