Hi everyone! So happy to be here hosting a new Hear My Voice themed Mixed Media Challenge. I hope you’ll join me!
Not familiar with Hear My Voice? It’s a monthly collaboration by Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson Designs. Every month, they create rich textures and unique digital artistry using a variety of mediums, giving you everything you need to express your thoughts and feelings through art journaling or mixed media scrapbooking. This challenge is a special space for collectors of Hear My Voice Digital Art to dive into their stash, spark creativity, and connect through shared inspiration.
First, let’s congratulate last month’s random winner of the HMV collection @ad77
This month, we’re exploring the theme of Anticipating. Anticipating is that lovely, fluttery feeling of being almost there—when something wonderful is just around the corner, and your heart already knows it. It’s the magic in the pause, the quiet before the cheer, the sparkle in your eyes as you count down the moments. These are the in-between memories—the ones filled with hope, excitement, and all the beautiful “what ifs” that make life so sweet.
Here are some ideas that may spark your creativity:
-The Before Shot
-Create a page around a moment just before something happened—before a big trip, before meeting someone special, before a new season began. Use candid prep photos, packing lists, messy counters, or nervous smiles.
-Countdowns & Calendars
-Design a layout featuring countdowns—advent calendars, baby due dates, event planning, or seasonal transitions. Include handwritten numbers, torn calendar pages, or digital timers.
Future Memories
-Create a page dedicated to something you're currently anticipating—your next trip, a life change, a reunion—and leave space to return and add photos later. Think of it as a “before” page in a story yet to unfold
-Doors & Thresholds
-Use imagery of open doors, gates, paths, windows—symbols of something about to begin. Maybe layer transparent paper like vellum to create a “peek ahead” effect
A few ideas for things to include on your page might be:
Clocks & Watches – Time is everything when you're anticipating! Use vintage clocks, countdown timers, or hourglasses.
Calendars & Numbers – Tear-off calendar pages, hand-drawn countdowns, date stamps, or circle-the-date stickers
Footsteps / Paths / Roads – Represent the journey or the lead-up to a moment.
Arrows / Compass – To show movement toward something or a sense of direction.

This is a product challenge, and Hear My Voice Products need to make up 75% of the products used on your page, but you can use any Hear my voice collection or even a combination of collections that you wish. See the notes at the end of the challenge for further product clarification.

- Create a new scrapbook layout that meets the criteria listed above and ensure your layout is made up of at least 75% of 'Hear My Voice' Products (You may choose to create with backgrounds and elements from one, or a combination of Hear My Voice Products). The other allowable 25% must contain product from either Rachel's or Lynn's shop.
- Upload your layout to the Rachel Jefferies Designs Gallery at TLP and Lynn GrievesonDesigns Gallery at TLP (when uploading into the gallery, you can specify additional categories under "Shared media with") and list the products used in your credits.
- For your challenge entry to be counted, you MUST upload your finished layout to this thread.
- Please link your thread to your gallery image as it helps us leave love on your layout (and validate your project).
- No double-dipping…your layout must be created for this challenge only, no others. You must create a NEW layout for this challenge.
- This challenge will remain open until Aug. 4, 2025.
- Don’t hesitate to tag me if you have any questions, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
- One lucky creative will be drawn at random to win our Hear My Voice Collection!!
