I am too.tired.to.live. But here's a brief update.

I originally hoped to get 100 people and raise $1000.

As of last night we were at about 280 and $5k.

After today, we had about 400 people and raised over $7k for my friend and his family.

What an amazing day. My friend cried every time he looked at me. :( It was so emotional. I was so honored and blessed to have everyone pull together to help me do this for them. What a great club I'm a part of and great town I live in.

Here's a pic of me and my friend Marsha who was the co-race director and Tom, my friend who I did all this for (I'm one on the right):

Here's his wife (currently in the hospital getting a blood transfusion) with the shirt he had everyone sign for her.

And this is just PART of the crowd. I was so overwhelmed! Amazing amazing day! :heartslub

That is awesome! It's always great to see people do such unselfish things to help others.

Wow. I'm new here and don't know the whole back story, but I can just tell how incredible that is. So happy for you and your friends!

wow! that is truly amazing Angie! so glad it was successful and wishing the best for your friend and his wife~

Wow Angie, that is truly amazing! I can't believe you had to play soccer after all that! :)

The weird thing is (and I even feel weird saying this out loud lol), I don't really feel like I did anything. I love him, so it just seemed like the right thing to do. The reporter asked me why I did all this and I said "I'd do anything for him!"

My love language is acts of service if you didn't know. :rofl

Also, he would do it for me.

In.cre.di.ble.

What an accomplishment. Your friend's reaction says it all. I am in awe.

Oh my goodness, Angie. This brought tears to my eyes. So awesomely amazing. So glad it was such a huge success!!

Angie, this is so amazing.
As someone who has had amazing things done for her and seen amazing things done for family members, there really aren't words to say thank you. What is also cool is that you are most likely inspiring others to do things that they never would have dreamed of or thought possible before this race!

Now, I hope you get some rest, because I know you have to be mentally and physically exhausted!
