I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be. Naturally. :overreact

For PL, what kind of planning do you do? Like, each week as you take photos do you make notes about using them in your PL page, or keep track of events you'll highlight, etc.? Or do you just remember what went down that week and decide on what to scrap when you do the actual page?

I make daily notes of whatever stands out to me about that day. I also note any photos I've taken, or memorabilia I might want to include. That way when I go to plan out my spread (which I do on paper on one of the freebie templates that someone had posted on their blog) I have all the information right there in front of me.

Currently I'm using the app Day One... I take photos with my phone, add them to Day One and write a little bit about the day/event. I don't necessarily use just photos from my phone for my layout... but the photo in Day One helps remind me which photos from my big camera go with that day/event.

I make notes all week as things happen and then narrow it down at the end of the week as to which photos and memories actually make it in the book.

I make notes in my planner of quotes and things we did... and then I review the photos I took that week and then draw a map on Sunday nights so that I can print up the journaling cards and send the photos off to pick up on Monday night

Thanks ladies! I will start keeping notes. Thinking maybe I need a cute planner for this purpose. ;)

I am doing all digital this year so I keep the week layout up on my computer all the time and I try to work on each day for a little bit at the very end when I put my kids to bed. That way it doesn't get overwhelming and I also don't forget the stories from the day. That's about all the planning I do.

I use an app called Memento. Memento integrates all of your feeds - your blog, facebook, twitter, instagram - so whatever you post in social media is integrated into the app. The app also lets you add your own photos, make notes, etc. On my harddrive, I have a Project Life folder. In the folder, I'll create a subfolder for whatever week I'm working on - and throughout the week, I'll dump stuff into the folder - photos, stuff I scan in like movies stubs, etc. - so once I start putting the layout together, all of my stuff is in one place. Once the week is done, I put the week into a Finished Week Folder. With my finished layout, I put that into a finished file - which is dividing into two - printed, not printed - because I only print when Persnickety prints has a coupon.

Good luck! It's a great project, and it gets easier every week, once you get your groove going.

I use ohlife.com. Each night I get an e-mail where I reply and write about my day. When it is time to do my page I sort my photos by DAY. I pick the best photo of each day. Some days I take many photos and some days I just take one photo. I use both my phone and my point and shoot. After 4 years of taking photos of everything every single day I take a lot of photos. I always have something to record for the week. Good or bad.

I've got a calendar/journal app that I put notes in so I can remember bits and pieces of my wk and use whatever camera I have (phone, dslr, P&S). I'm trying to make this as little time and effort as possible.
