Can you use it for any cell phone, or just iphones?

I still have a cheesy plain jane flip phone, but dh wants to get me some sort of smart phone. I'm so out of the loop on these things and I don't know what to get. I want something that I'll be able to plug into my laptop when we are out camping and get internet access. But, that is another question, lol. Just wondering if instagram works on other types of phones, because I kind of want to be able to use it!
 
Instagram is iphone only, although there are similar apps for Android, none are quite as cool. LOL
 
Hmmm. Thanks Laura! I'm going to have to look into an iphone then. I really don't even know the difference, LOL.
 
If you have an iPad or iPod touch you can put the instagram software on there and move your photos over to instagram them. That's a verb right?
 
I have an iPod Touch and that's what I use with Instagram. The only problem is, Instagram doesn't save the high-res Instagrammed photos to the camera roll. For the iPod it only saves the 612 pixel or 720 pixel resolution. Although, I have printed out the 612 pixel Instagram photos at home for my PL album. It is totally fine as a cute 2-3 inch photo. 4" is okay, but bigger than that it's not as good.
 
I so don't get instagram. I have it on my phone, and I've tried it but I just don't get it. Can somebody explain why I should use instagram rather than the regular camera?
 
Holy cow ladies - I went to best buy today to check out my options, and I just cannot believe the price of these things and their plans. I am sooo not spending 80 dollars a month for a cell phone! I currently use a pay as you go tracfone, and though the minutes are kind of pricey, I still only spend 15 a month on it. I was hoping to get a plan for around 30-40, but all the ones I've seen that have talk, text, and data are super pricey. Even instagram is not worth THAT much, lol.
 
lol don't blame you Kelley! The only reason I have an iphone is because my brother upgraded and gave me his old one! So I have it on prepaid. I don't use phones enough to justify a huge monthly contract.

I didn't realize you could get an iphone on a prepaid plan. Which provider do you go through? I am willing to by the phone, I just can't handle the large monthly contract.
 
well I'm in Australia so it probably won't help you much. But if we have it then I'd say you can too. You just need to make sure you get the right size sim for your phone.

To answer your question I have just switched from Telstra to Amaysim.

Oh and you could also try buying an older iphone from ebay or somewhere...cos the new 4s is nearly $1000 to buy outright! :D
 
In the one year I've had my iPhone, I've taken over 1250 instagram pics. LOL I love it SOOOOOOOO much!!!
