I had a broken screen the other day and I had to reinstall PS CS2 on my system. Now I have a new screen and the colors in PS are off and I don't have a clue about how to fix it.

What happens: For example I have a almost white paper that looks normal when I open it in Windows photo gallery. When I open it in Photoshop it doesn't look white anymore, it has a strong yellow tint. Same with my photos. The problem seems to be my PS settings.

Could anyone please post what settings you are using in PS? I tried to google a solution but I didn't understand a thing about color management.

I really don't know much about color management either, but I do know that when I open a new file in PS, I set it to RGB colors. It sounds like your papers and photos look funny just opening them though, so that probably won't help. I've never heard of this happening. I sure hope someone else knows how to fix it for yoU! That would be really annoying!

Sounds like a colour profile issue - I can't help with CS2 I'm afraid as I started using PS from CS3, but googling 'CS2 color profiles' might be useful.

hi I am not a pro, but when I had lessons this is what we were told. go to Edit find colour settings, from the drop down menu choose an option, I have Europe re press, because printers here use that, but it would be my guess that you need north American prepress or phothshop default. Hope this helps

sorry it will not let me post a screen shot, I will try to pm you.

I've never heard of that either. My color settings in CS6 look like this:

I Googled a little bit and found some people who said this problem can also come from a bad monitor driver, so you might try investigating that if this doesn't help.

Those are the setting I use too. Do you use a calibrating software? I'm no expert, but if something has happened to the monitor driver, can you do an update for it?

Thanks a lot to everybody for the suggestions! I changed the settings (Vivi sent me a PM with hers) and now it's fine. It was a problem with the settings for the color profile.
