I'm making the switch! When I saw the great deal on CS6 at Amazon today I just couldn't pass it up!

If you've made the switch can you offer up some tips for me? Or could you hook me up to some on-line resources? What am I going to love the most? What am I going to miss??

Any tips appreciated.

I never used Elements except an occasional use on my Mother-in-laws computer when she ran into trouble. I know the first thing you're going to say you miss in the photo strip thingie on the bottom. It's not in PS and everybody complains about that. I personally just have a few windows of File Explorer open and set to thumbnails and that's my way around that... but I use a 2nd monitor so I have lots of desktop space to do this method.

Let's see... you will love having more control over the layer styles for your drop shadows. The text on path (or better yet inside a shaped path) is pretty awesome too. Those are my main loves. If you're into brushes I think there are a lot more controls and cool things you can do with brushes too.

Have fun with your new purchase! :)

the biggest change was getting used to not having the photo bin at the bottom... other than that just a few shortcuts are different and you'll be blown away how much better shadowing is and even photo actions are... soooo much better :)

my biggest tip is to uninstall PSE and don't ever go back to it... it took me about 2 weeks to get used to the changes and I know there were a few times I wanted to cry and just go back to PSE... but after a couple weeks I was in the groove and learning all the new stuff I could do in PS that I couldn't do in PSE

and don't be afraid to post questions we all want to help each other out and are happy to help :)

Funny because I started with PS7 and went to CS2, so I never had a photobin. When I saw it on someone's PSE I was like "how can you STAND that?? I need the room to see my project!!!" lol

This is me too. I would shut that thing off if I worked in PSE! :)
