Wondering if anyone else did the recent CC 2014 update and now has a pop up ad with promotional stuff every time you restart the program???
Super annoying! How do you make it go away? :hissy
Thanks!!!
Kelly

Oh gosh, I would hate it too!!! I have CS5, so I am lucky to not have gotten it.
I hope people will be able to help you out!

It's so frustrating! I did the normal update install which was prompted by the Creative Cloud. I have been super impressed with the monthly subscription til now. This is first time the update has had pop-ads/videos. Can't seem to figure out how to turn off??

I haven't been prompted yet-- that stinks. Hmmm.... Sorry I don't know how to get rid of it; did you Google it? Seems like there's always some smarty pants out there who posts that kind of stuff. (And thank goodness for them!)

I agree Mary Kay!!!! I didn't google yet but am off to try!
I thought I would check here becuz this place is STOCK FULL OF EXPERTS :)!!!!!
Love the Lilypad!

Kelly - the Welcome screen? or something else? if it's the welcome screen, pull down on the side of the box and select "Don't show this...." in the bar at the very bottom - if you want it back (ha!) it's under Help | Welcome...

y'all - PS CC 2014 is really nice - faster and stable-r - (whoo, I'm beat) - but it runs third party scripts Completely Differently. If you rely like I did on Credit Tracker - it does not work, or it does not work for me, rather, with PS CC 2014. At all. Other than that, I like it.

Thanks Nettie - I did finally figure this out last night! LOL! I am always worried about pop up ads and this kind of felt like one - HOWEVER - Nettie is right if you expand the Welcome window and scroll down there is a small gray box you can chk to get the window to close! Yay!

Credit tracker? Can this be used with PS CS6? :pray

I haven't been prompted for an update, but I'll look for the welcome screen thing and be sure to tell it not to show for me. :giggle

I paid for a credit tracker ages ago, before Creative Cloud, but it really slowed down PS for me so I stopped using it. I loved it because I only had to put in the information once (a little time consuming) and then every time I opened that folder the credit tracker would keep track of the store, the designer, the product, and a link to the product. It really was a great tool, just slowed down PS too much for me. I have never tried installing it in CC, so not sure if it would work or not.

Wow, credit tracker sounds like a huge time saver. Too bad it slows down PS!!!

Brandi - it should work with PS6. It worked awesome for me with CS5, and I didn't have any issues with bog compared to running PS without it. Here's the link to etsy - Credit Tracker by Anna Forrest Design

It puts a metadata sidecar in the folder where you store your kits - you enter, once, all the website info for each kit, element, etc. you use - then when you are done, you choose either to have it create for you a notepad in HTML, BB Code, etc. of your credits, or imbed it in the PSD file as a layer. Fabulous time saver in workflow when it comes to posting to galleries. Standard caveat - don't break the links, etc. I Miss It!!!

Yay...so glad to hear how to get rid of that pop-up. It's been bugging me!

I use Anna Forrest's credit tracker with CC 2014 and not had any problem with it. Nettie, have you tried contacting Anna? I had an issue with one of her other scripts (title maker) and she was super helpful.

It's never slowed down PS for me. I made a video of it in action, if anyone is interested.

Lorry - yes - we've been in Etsy convo-land but I'm not back there again until after the end of US tax season 10/15. Anna has tagged it on the product cover "may not work in PS CC 2014" and mine does not. Will sit down again at the end of the week and get back at it.

Kelly - sorry for the thread spike.

Well, as you ladies seem to know much and so willing to share your so much appreciated knowledge... I have been using some actions for ages in CS5. Worked well like a charm and now it won't do it at all.
I haven't changed any setting, nor changed the folders where the action/script has been saved too.. The only thing I can think of, is perhaps some Windows updates bugged this. Is that even possible?

Run into a few actions that mysteriously died. Riiight about CS5 to CS5.1 when Adobe introduced the "file migration script" as a way to move your presets(actions). I am lazy, so I gave up on those actions and went to Lightroom. HA!

think what you have to do is 1) pray 2) make an action set, and 3) file migrate - choose your version.

though I usually blame Microsoft for any sudden non-MSFT failure, or really anything - think Adobe's likely on the hook for your action crash.

My laptop died (for reasons completely unrelated to anything in this thread LOL) and I just reinstalled Photoshop CC 2014 and all my actions, scripts, etc. on my husband's desktop. Everything is working fine, except that I forgot to save the last couple actions I made. Can't blame anyone else for that, though! Have you tried reinstalling both CC and the scripts all over again, Nettie? (I guess the tech support person in me will never die.) I haven't been using PS long enough to have old actions that stopped working, so I'm no help to PLM, though.
