so is this style of scrapping replacing your want to do layouts? Will you do both? Keep them in separate binders? I am a prolific chrono scrapper (yes it is a curse) and wondering how to pull it all together. What are you doing?

This is kind of my hang up with PL. I know that I wouldn't want to capture things twice since I have a hard enough time keeping up with my regular scrapbook stuff that I want to do. I also keep my books chronological, although I bounce around and scrap what I feel like until a book is full.

I finally just decided today that I really like my current system of capturing our memories, so I'm not going to do PL. I am still toying with get a binder and some pages for my son to play with though. He keeps asking me if he can scrapbook and that system seems perfect for a 7 YO.

I am planning to treat my PL as a P365 - everyday memories. The bigger events will get (digi) scrapped separately as usual.

I mix it all into the same album side by side. I love how eclectic it looks!

I too have made a decision not to do project life per se. I scrapbook nearly everything, and I like the way I do, so project life is not going to work for me without being redundant. What I am going to do is scrap the random pics each month PL style and make sure to add journaling cards with stuff that didn't get its own layout. A perfect blend of the two! This post sealed the deal for me and made me realize I was over thinking what I already do

Heather - Great post! Thanks for sharing! This is exactly why I don't do 365 or any hybrid form of scrapping. Once I went digital I never looked back and never want to! If I want to get crafty with paper I can always make cards, but I like keeping my memories digitally. I've tried some year in review type albums with each month having the same look and feel, but I didn't enjoy making them and it really felt like a chore. Yes, they do look nice, but I was so focused on getting enough pictures that the stories were completely lost! I've stopped worrying about trying to make uniform albums. I would rather have stand alone pages that I enjoyed making and tell the story while it's fresh!

I tend to scrap 'moments', and I hate scrapping events - so I never get around to it. Project Life is going to be my way of getting the everyday bits and pieces and the stuff we do scrapped. Some pictures may end up in PL and in other layouts, but with journalling which is about something other than just the who, what, where. I use a Library of Memories system and PL is going to help me to get all the 'other' photos (plus a few favourites!) into a book where they can be seen.
